Full description
History lovers visiting Thailand will value this opportunity to tour the region of Kanchanaburi in West Thailand. During this memorable day trip from Bangkok, you’ll visit the Death Railway which was put on the map by the 1957 movie, Bridge Over the River Kwai. You’ll begin the day by getting immersed in Thailand’s rich bounty at one of the country’s best-loved national parks, Erawan National Park. Walking trails, running water, and undisturbed wildlife characterize this peaceful area. Erawan Waterfall has seven tiers and a set of limestone caves at its base: you'll forget all about the busy streets of Bangkok. This natural paradise is the perfect place to breathe in the fresh country air. Continue to JEATH Museum, dedicated to the Allied Prisoners of War who died building the Burmese railway. This museum is a sad yet important reminder of Thailand’s history; it’s thought that over 100,000 lives were lost during this period. JEATH is an acronym for the main nationalities involved in the building of the railway: Japanese, English, Australian, American, Thai and Dutch. Finally, you’ll visit the historic Bridge over the River Kwai. You’ll get the chance to walk over the bridge, soak up the impressive scenery, and take a moment to remember the past, before returning to your accommodations/meeting point at approximately 8:00 PM.

Great! I loved this experience. My guide Bonnie was very friendly and professional. I was the only on on that tour that day and I'm glad that the company did not cancel. I have a private visit so and it was sooooo nice. Bonnie take well care of me and take a lot of pictures of me during all the trip, always with the smile. Best tour I had in Thailand

I had a great day visiting the river Kwai bridge then the Erawan falls, under the guidance of our guide Judi from TripGuru. We were only two clients and travelled comfortably by car. Highlight of the day was the Erawan falls. Downside was the 3 1/2 trip back to Bangkok. Perhaps leaving the park a bit later would have helped avoiding most traffic jams.

I hesitated to book this tour as it is such a long drive. However I am very happy that i did because Erawan was lovely! The pick up at the meeting point went very smoothly. Sasa, my guide for the day was on time, easily recognisable and she is very nice. She knows a lot about Kanchanaburi and Bangkok in general. Sasa offered many toilet and drinking breaks so not to worry about that. She also took many pictures of me as I was travelling by myself. Also I was grateful that they did not cancel as it was just me on this tour. Bring good walking shoes as the last levels require some climbing. The Erawan waterfalls cannot be missed when visiting Bangkok, I highly recommend this tour!
