Full description

Scale one of Bali’s natural wonders with a private, early-morning hike up Mount Batur, including breakfast and a trip to a coffee plantation afterwards.  With all entry tickets, accommodation transfers, and an expert local guide also included, the only thing you’ll have to worry about is enjoying the panoramic views.  Begin your ascent at the base of Mount Batur after an early pickup from your accommodation. You’ll even start your jungle trek on an exclusive path with fewer trekkers around. Savor the pristine night sky away from the city lights as you hike. After a 2-hour trek, you’ll then be rewarded at the top with sunrise views over the natural landscape and ocean horizon. And even better, you get to enjoy breakfast at the volcano’s summit.  On the way down you’ll enjoy more vistas, such as Lake Batur, an enormous volcanic crater lake.  You’ll also have the opportunity to stop off for a cup of local Luwak coffee at a coffee plantation before being dropped off back at your accommodation.

Before and after your hike, enjoy the exclusive use of Mt. Batur Lounge, the only villa-style lounge around with clean, modern toilets and a comfortable shower facility.

Not for one for group tour activities, I succumbed to the volcano hike because friends were interested. But… it was so amazing! Yes your thighs will burn, and sometimes you’ll want to turn back, but reaching the top is simply stunning, for yourself, but also… wow - the view! The tour guide we had was Komang and he held my hand for what seemed like hours when I was unsteady on the way up AND the way down. Really enjoyed his confidence and consideration. He made me feel really secure and safe. Not just that - he’s really funny and reassuring. Thanks komang! Our driver was Supri - and he was so gentle and kind to us on the way there and back. He’s also an excellent driver and clearly was very familiar with the mountain and all the hairpin turns we had to take to get to the base of Batur. The coffee plantation was also enjoyable. You will be exhausted after the climb and the coffee is pretty much the perfect tonic. They don’t labour the tour at all. So… do it! Worth it!
