Full description

Explore Nassau’s tropical streets by scooter and get to know Bahamian culture on this guided tour. Stop off at historical landmarks like the Queen’s Staircase and Fort Fincastle, savor the spicy aromas of the Rum Cake Factory and learn about the history of Junkanoo at the National Art Gallery.

The first stop will be at Rawson Square, named after a former governor of the island, before you move on to the Rum Cake Factory. Here you’ll learn about the unique flavors and techniques that go into making this classic Caribbean delicacy.

Next, you’ll head on to Fort Fincastle, stopping first to admire the dramatic Queen’s Staircase, which is made of 65 steps of solid limestone carved into the hillside. The fort itself was built in the 18th century to protect Nassau harbor from pirates and offers spectacular views out over the water.

After this, the tour will make its way to Bahama Barrels, the first winery in the Bahamas, and on to the National Art Gallery. Here, you’ll be able to learn about Junkanoo, a Bahamian street parade, and admire the collection of colorful clothing and masks worn by the dancers.

Finally, you’ll visit the John Watlings Distillery, where you can learn about small-batch rum production, and the Pompey Museum of Slavery and Emancipation, where your tour will come to an end.

We had a bad start. The instructions said to meet at Pompey Square but in fact it was by the police station, near the cruise ships. We didn't have data on holiday so didn't get any of our guides messages until we wandered off to find WiFi. After a bad and very late start as we then had to wait for the scooters to be delivered. This tour is for electric sccoters, not Segway as the title suggests. Once we got going out tour guide was lovely and the scooters are a good way to see lots of places. Expect to have to tip a guide at the Queen's steps and to be asked if you want to buy food and drinks as you go round. We got free tasters of wine, rum, cake, cocktails, tea and conch fritters. The John Watling tour was fun and the chocolates were to die for.

Deathra was an amazing tour guide ! Such a great way to see the city and for a really good price. The scooters were pretty fun to ride. She took us all over the city was educational and funny . She tailored the tour to what we liked and were interested in seeing. She took lots of pictures and had a great sense of humor she made it a fun day for us. We went to the rumcake factory , queens stairs , chocolate bar, wine tasting , art museum, history museum, little shopping at the top of queens stairs , lots of history. I highly recommend Deathra and this tour we will never forget it

Our tour was wonderful! Got to try some amazing foods like rum cake, chocolate. There were also some tasty drinks like sky juice, rum ('cause you have to try rum at least once while you're here), and some very yummy teas. We got to see the Art and Pompey Museums to learn more about Bahamian history. We also got to ride around Downtown on electric scooters. Most of all, our tour guide Deathra did an amazing job of sharing it all with us. Highly recommend taking this tour when you come to Nassau!
