We had a good experience, however I would advise other travelers to consider the the it takes to get into the park. We were picked up at 6:00am but it took us 4 hours (which means 10:00am) to get into the park from Nairobi. By the time we got there the animals were hiding in the shade. Our driver did the best he could looking for the animals, we just got there too late in the day. The boat ride was different we were taken right up and close to some 30 or more hippopotamus in a canoe. I booked the tour and was scar to death of fear they may wake up lol.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. Lake Nakuru was beautiful and the flamingos and pelicans were impressive, in terms of their numbers and just watching their entertaining behaviours. The other animals in the reserve were an absolute bonus. tue boat ride on Lake Navaisha did not disappoint - we saw 2 different families of hippos, lots of bird life and other wildlife. Steven was an excellent driver and guide and we would love to travel with him again. I would just recommend to take snacks/food and water for the day - we chose to skip a formal lunch break so that we had more time to spend watching the wildlife - so glad that we did!

We had a fantastic day out in nature and saw some amazing animals. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had an issue with out vouchers on entry to the park which caused a delay by around half an hour waiting in the Jeep. It didn’t overshadow our enjoyment of the day though and I would recommend this trip to others who want to see as much wildlife as possible in a tour not too far from Nairobi.
