Walking Tour through Basel Old Town

We took a walking tour of Basel on a Sunday. Most of the shops were closed but that made it less crowded and more enjoyable. Our guide discussed the history and culture of the the city and the figures who influenced it evolution over the centuries. The tour was in both German and Englisjed and that worked for us. It was very enjoyable and providers an excellent background for our own exploration of Basel. Basel is a great central location for visiting cities in Switzerland as well as Alsace.

We had 20 people in our city walking tour. It lasted about 2 hours and we covered a lot of the key historical points in Basel. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made it enjoyable and not a long boring tour with too much over sharing but just the highlights of what you needed. Would highly recommend it. If you are staying in a local hotel you can use the Basel card they will give you at check in for a discount. We didn’t do that but still thought it was very reasonable priced.
