Full description
Visit the east part of the island on the beach with a natural lemon shark rookery, which is a light-brown colored shark, or sand-colored when in its natural environment. Choose to stay on the beach and watch the sharks with binoculars or get in the water and watch them from up close.  The lemon shark is medium to large shark and is not a threat to people, but can be a danger to other ocean animals. Its scientific name is Negaprion Brevirostris. The average length of a lemon shark is about 2.5 to 3 meters. Some of the largest lemon sharks measured about 3.4 meters. These sharks grow about 0.50 centimeters per year. After spending 60 minutes with sharks swimming around you and learning about the sharks you will be taken back to your lodge or hotel where you were picked up.

Tui cancelled our original booking at the last moment due to bad weather and unfortunately had no availability prior to our return. We all really wanted to see the shark's so looked into booking elsewhere and very glad we did. Booked and paid online and kept updated via email and WhatsApp with pick up time and information regarding our trip. Our driver was very friendly and informative about the island. Once at Shark's Bay we we're met by a knowledgeable and friendly local guide who took us to see the shark's and pass on information about them and the environment including other creatures such as sea urchins we held. In all we spent a good 40 minutes in the water which seemed longer than other tours taking place and surrounded by shark's with other groups coming over to us. Would definitely recommend booking through this company.

It should be made clear, this experience is not a swim, you walk out into the shallows of the bay which dependent on tides can be between knee and waist deep. The sharks are babies close in (18” to 2’) with larger fish further out. The babies will swim around you happily - the larger ones may stay clear - visible when their fins break the surface. Our guide was excellent, knowledgeable and engaged. On our day, the tide was low and the larger fish stayed clear, but that is not the fault of the organisers. Our family enjoyed it, I would recommend but with the note that it is not the face to face activity that the guide implies

Had a brilliant afternoon visiting snark Bay! Tour guide was brilliant attracting lots of the sharks over, telling us about them, answering our questions. They really do care for the wellbeing and sustainability of the sharks. Rental of water shoes included in the price was great and definitely needed! Our guide really was amazing - journey from hotel was 30/40 minutes and during that time he told us all about the island, lifestyles, culture etc which we found so interesting.
