Full description
Embark on a captivating full-day tour of El Salvador's most significant Mayan sites, led by an expert local guide. Begin at Joya de Ceren, a UNESCO World Heritage site, This is is only Maya village in the whole region, it was preserved by layers of ash, and that is why called the ppompeii of America, followed by the intriguing ruins of San Andrés. Then, marvel at the grandeur of Tazumal, home to the country's largest pyramid. Enjoy a scenic drive through Chalchuapa town before a lunch stop with stunning views of Coatepeque Lake (lunch not included). Return to your hotel by approximately 4 pm, enriched by a day of exploration into El Salvador's ancient Mayan history.
