Matka Canyon is a beautiful location and it is worth it to pay the extra 500 MKD to explore Vrelo Cave, as it is also quite impressive. It was just me and my partner on the tour and our guide was so kind and informative. You could tell he is passionate about what he does and very knowledgeable.

We had a nice trip to the canyon. We were expecting the entrance fee to the cave to be included in the tour price but it is an extra 8 euros. I would add some stops or coffee breaks during the tour. Over all the tour is mor about connecting with nature and serene and not much about the cave.

The boat ride is 20 minutes each way.The climb to the cave is arduous.I would advise any over 60s to wait in the boat.The cave is a pleasant experience partially lit in coloured lights.The guide was pleasant and informative about Neolithic and Macedonian history.
