Puerto Plata: Damajagua Waterfalls Full-Day Adventure

2. Puerto Plata: Damajagua Waterfalls Full-Day Adventure

Enjoy an unforgettable adventure at the waterfalls of Damajagua in the Dominican Republic, located at the confluence of emerald waters, deep in a tropical rainforest of the Cordillera Septentrional. 27 refreshing waterfalls have been chiseled by Mother Nature’s celestial mallet. Ideal for visitors who like to commune with nature, while experiencing an adrenaline-fuelled day, you will hop on the back of a safari-style truck, where a team of experienced guides and drivers await. Note that only 12 of the 27 waterfalls will be visited, since doing the 27 waterfalls would take greater physical preparation. After a short safety briefing, glide across the natural water springs, bathing in heavenly caves. Flanked by the whistling of exotic birdlife, and the banks of the Damajagua River, the rustling of the streams arouse a state of stillness. A labyrinth of tunnels and chutes are scattered around the waterfalls, some reaching heights of up to 13 feet. Somersault with the grace of aquatic birds, as your guide keep a watchful eye. Walk an interpretative rainforest trail to come face-to-face with Mother Earth, and wildlife waits to be greeted. Leap headfirst, swimming crossways, and sliding down natural waterslides. Explore unpredictable falls, with teasing names like “La Virgen” and “La Tinajita.” “La Virgen” holds Taino legends, where the aborigines built a statue of pebbles that paid homage to the Virgin of Altagracia, perhaps becoming the first worshippers of the Patron Saint of the Dominican people. After a typical buffet-style lunch, head towards the small town of Imbert and visit a local market where you can purchase artisan products and crafts bearing a distinct Dominican hallmark.

What people are saying about 27 Waterfalls

It was an all-round successful day. We were picked up at the hotel on time, Daniel met us personally at the ranch and because we were the only two guests on the tour due to the coronavirus, he was able to take a lot of time for us and willingly answer questions about the country and its people. We started with the zip lines and flew back and forth several times between the stations, then rode the horses for about 1 hour and then there was a typical Dominican lunch. Then Daniel showed us the small garden with various plants, some of which were unknown to us, as well as the flamingos, macaws and other birds. Then we went by car to the waterfalls, where an initially arduous path (very warm, uphill) finally followed by a pleasantly cool refreshment by jumping from 7m into the water as well as further jumps and slides over a total of 12 waterfalls (from very small to almost 10m ). All in all a great day, if you book here you can't go wrong.

Our guides and staff were very kind and helpful. The 7 waterfalls was amazing. We are from Utah and it was like one of our slot canyons in the water. High rock walls and beautiful clear water. The zipline coarse was a fun trip with amazing views of the mountains and ocean. The horseback riding was a nice finish to the day with an easy ride through a few ranches in the area. Watch out for the donkeys! The food was great, a rice, beans and chicken lunch that was delicious. They made sure we had water available through out the whole day. Would definitely do it again.

The visit to the Country World Ranch was really wonderful. We were warmly welcomed and the zip lines were great. Due to the weather we could not visit all waterfalls. It was a very adventurous day and we recommend it to everyone who loves action. Our conclusion: again at any time.

The trip was really interesting and fun. Jumping into the water was exciting when there is rock on both sides.

Highly Recommended!!! Everything is well organized. Care and food were super good;) again at any time :)
