Full description
Day 1: CUSCO - KAPULIYOQ - MARAMPATA
At 4 am we will pick you up from your hotel and leave Cusco in our private transportation, which will take us to the town of San Pedro de Cachora (2800masl), where we can do last minute shopping for the trek, then we will drive to the sector of Capuliyoq, where we will start our hike.
Here we meet the rest of our travel team (muleteers and their horses). We begin the long journey that will take us between 6 to 7 hours. On the way we can also observe a great diversity of landscapes that belong to different climates, such as the snow-capped mountains of Padriyoc, the diversity of flora and fauna embellish our walk. We will be able to observe the deepest canyon in the world that is known, the Apurimac and where the majestic Apurimac River flows and it is also possible to observe the first views of Choquequirao. We will continue descending to Chikisqa, and ascend to Santa Rosa where we will have our lunch and also a short rest.
After lunch we will continue our last ascent of the day to Marampata Camp, where our tents will be waiting for us. We will have the afternoon free to rest appreciating this beautiful landscape or to explore. After dinner we will spend the night in this camp.
Day 2: MARANPATA - CHOQUEQUIRAO - CHIKISQA
After a good breakfast we will begin our hike to the Choquequirao Archaeological Zone for 2 hours, we will have our complete guided visit to Chokequirao (Cradle of Gold), the sector of LLamas, the Ceremonial Usno and the Religious Zone. Which is considered as the sister city of Machu Picchu, as there are several similarities, besides being located 1500 meters above the Apurimac Canyon, only a third of this archaeological complex has been discovered and every day archaeologists find something more of interest. After the visit we will return to Marampata camp to rest and take our lunch, and then continue with a downhill hike to Chikisqa camp, where dinner awaits us in addition to spending the night in this place.
Day 3: CHIKISQA - KAPULIYOQ - CUSCO
At dawn, after breakfast we will start our last hike up and back to the viewpoint of Kapuliyoq to say goodbye to this adventure, arriving at Capuliyoq we will have a snack and then take our private transport that will be waiting for us to return to the city of Cusco. Arriving in Cusco we will drive to your respective hotel to finish and say goodbye to the support staff.
