The guide (Valerio) was very professional, told us interesting facts and details about the glacier and sometimes made fun as well. He was really supporting and willing to help anytimewe would need help. The view was spectacular and we could also rent waterproof clothes and shoes for a reasonable price, which was really useful. Amazing experience worth every penny :)

This is a pretty basic glacier walk, which is exactly what a common traveler who wants to feel a glacier up close wants to do. Solheimajokull is more black and white due to volcanic activity, so it looks and feels rather different than other glaciers. Important - the location of the meeting place given by GetYourGuide is incorrect - it brings to Myrdaljokull site rather than Solheimajokull; the right place is several kilometers to the west.

This hike was amazing. Driving was the best option; we were able to make stops on the way to see various waterfalls and take some good pictures. We went in March and the road conditions were alright to drive in from Reykjavik, but we left a little earlier to get there good just in case weather or roads were bad. The drive back was blizardy. But- worth the trip! The glaciers were amazing and hiking around is great. You do not need to be a professional, anyone could go. Maria, our guide was amazing; she was so passionate about her work and we really enjoyed being with her. She explained much!
