Full description
Depart the bright lights of Reykjavík city center to see the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis. Also known as the “Northern Lights,” it is one of the most spectacular shows during the winter months. Head for wherever meteorologists have predicted the lights will be at their best. To get stunning views of the sky you will aim for areas with no artificial light. Hear explanations of how the Aurora Borealis is caused as a result of the gaseous particles in the earth’s atmosphere colliding with charged particles released from the sun’s atmosphere. The locations visited differ from day-to-day, but you will head in the direction with the most chance of seeing Mother Nature at work. As the tour is weather dependent, and sightings are not guaranteed, you are also invited to join another Northern Lights tour free of charge if the lights don’t appear.  Explore Northern Lights in the Aurora Museum. The Northern Lights tour includes a complementary ticket to visit the museum in Reykjavik, Grandagarður 2, 101 Reykjavík.

it's the best! I was able to see the aurora all over the sky! Even if you can't see it, you can see the starry sky, and the guide took pictures in order with a good camera. I participated alone, but I had them take about 6 pictures with the aurora in the background. I received the photo by email the next day! I think this experience is quite cheap at this price. The guide was also smiling and kind, and above all, he enjoyed it, so I enjoyed it too. Also, I was happy that I got the chocolate.

The overall experience of hunting for the northern lights was fun itself but due to weak aurora activity we were only able to see very faint northern lights. The trip to the place was quite comfortable and we were even able to get a shot of got chocolate in the cold weather!

Very prompt pickup at stop as arranged . Our guide Chiara was very informative & also a professional photographer which was great as she took photos of couples etc with the Northern Lights in the back ground - we were very lucky to eventually see them , eventually ! ( she has emailed me these )The coach driver was excellent too ! We had waited at Kerid crater for a long time as she could see there was activity on her camera but this was not really visible to the naked eye then & didn’t seem to be developing in to anything obvious . But once the coach set off to return the lights then appeared so the driver found another place to stop so we we could marvel for quite a while at this amazing sight ! Instead of a 4 hour trip it ended up we were out for nearly 6 hours , returning to hotel at 2am ! But well worth it to see the Lights instead of re-booking for another night (which would have been no charge ) . Getting hot chocolate & Lava Bite wafers while waiting in the snow was great too !
