Located in the City of Arts and Sciences complex, Oceanogràfic features species from many of the world's key marine ecosystems. Immerse yourself in this unique marine world and travel through the longest underwater tunnel in Europe, visit a family of beluga whales, and come face to face with sharks.

Built on 2 levels, the upper floors feature outdoor exhibitions and are surrounded by a magnificent freshwater lake inhabited by pelicans, cormorants, and flamingos. On the lower level, you will find the largest aquariums in Europe, containing representatives of the world’s main marine ecosystems. Discover the Mediterranean, Antarctic, Arctic, Red Sea, and much more. You can meet more than 45,000 aquatic creatures from 500 different species, including belugas, walruses, jellyfish, sea lions, and sharks. When you fancy a break, just head to the underwater restaurant.

Know before you go

  • The time slot shown at check-out is the time the park opens at. You can enter the park anytime after 10:00 AM
  • The Oceanogràfic is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM from Sunday to Friday and from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday
  • From December 3rd until December 10th, 2022, the Oceanogràfic will have extended hours from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • On December 24th and 31st, 2022, Oceanogràfic will be exceptionally open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • On December 25th, 2022, Oceanogràfic will be exceptionally open from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM

It was the first activity I did in Valencia it was a nice way to start the trip. I wanted to be around the area due to being a Doctor Who and Westworld fan (as episodes of the show was shot there due to its futuristic look). I would suggest looking up different activities to do in the area, I missed out on going to a planetarium because I only stuck to excursion websites.

we went around the site with the audio guide but we used it very little because it became too difficult to identify the species and look for their description on the screen. we stayed two and a half hours but humanly speaking, for a decent visit it would take longer, the ideal would be a visit in two stages, better with an escort who describes at least the most important things.

Really nice experience, as someone said before if you take the 15:00 ticket they let you in before, the person at the entrance let me in 30 minutes earlier but he mentioned that I even could have came at 12:30. Unfortunately the people there don't apply to the rules (no flashlight, don't bang on the windows, parents don't raise their children and tell them to stop doing it) so if you're sensitive about that then better put on a hard skin. The park itself is quite impressive though, the personnel talked good English in case you're not familiar with Spanish and you can easily see everything without having to stand in lines. I went on a Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and was even able to see the dolphin show at the end. Unfortunately the employee held the entire presentation in Spanish but just seeing the spectacle was enough.
