Full description

Discover Berlin by bike on a guided tour that explores the city’s experience during the Cold War. Ride along the former East and West border and see the remains of the Berlin Wall, one of the last watch towers, hidden military sites, and other traces left by the division of the city. Bike to Friedrichstraße station and Bornholmer Straße to see former border crossing locations. Follow the River Spree to the parliament and government district and arrive at Brandenburg Gate where the border ran and was the symbol of the division of the city. Ride past areas where the ‘death strips’ were located and see watchtowers left behind after the fall of the wall. Stop to look at remaining stretches of the wall and the famous Checkpoint Charlie. Get a fascinating insight into what it was like to live in the eastern block and hear about failed escape attempts. Learn about the changes that German society went through and how the WWII and the Cold War shaped modern-day Berlin.

It would probably be the best museum in Berlin if the staff was a bit more polite and helpful.The stuff threw you out of the museum at 18:50 even thought the closing time is 19:00 and If you ask for just one last minute to read the final paragraph of the whole exhibition they will still insist you to live. So for us the staff was a problem but the exhibition was amazing.

We participated in a biking WWII tour around Berlin, that I highly recommend. Content was great, it was well prepared and our guide was knowledgeable. There is so much to see that unfortunately you can't spend too much time at each stop but this way we cover a lot of venues.

Guide was excellent, tour was very interesting!

Dominick made the tour very engaging, and it felt like we were seeing Berlin from a Berliner’s point of view. He connected the very serious subject matter to the people who lived it, which was a lovely approach. The human experience of Berlin’s history was made central to the tour. Very interesting, and the bike was a great way to see Berlin.
