We had the BEST time on this tour. Ingrid was our tour guide and she might be the best tour guide I’ve ever had. She was very knowledgeable, funny, kind and had so many great tips throughout the day that made our tour go as smooth as possible (I.e. she knew where the free bathrooms were and would tell us to go and told us to get a sandwich at the beginning of the day for a picnic in Keukenhof because they have very high food prices there) She spoke many languages, was friendly to all and even went out of her way to make sure the kids were comfortable and gave the parents tips on playgrounds etc. without delaying the rest of the group. My friends and I said she was an icon from the beginning of the day and we’re still talking about how memorable she was weeks later, definitely recommend this tour!

Full description

Experience a full day filled with Dutch flowering fields and spectacular gardens on this guided tour of the Keukenhof Gardens. See rows of tulips, daffodils, and crocuses, all growing in different colors and sizes. Taste local cheese and observe the traditional method of making wooden shoes.

When you arrive at Keukenhof Gardens, you will receive a 45-minute guided tour through the park, leaving you enough free time to explore at your own leisure. Your guide will explain how each type of flower is cultivated and its history and significance within Dutch culture. 

After soaking up the garden vistas, continue to Zaanse Schans, the famous windmill village. Tour the town with your guide. Visit the wooden shoemaker shop for a live demonstration of how wooden shoes are crafted, followed by a cheese-making demonstration and tasting.

Before you set off to discover Zaanse Schans on your own, your guide will give you further information on what makes it a unique village, inform you about local history and culture, and provide you with insider tips about the area.

Please meet at Grand Café 1884, a 6-minute walk from the Amsterdam Central Station. From the front of the station turn to your left and walk in the eastern direction. Keep on walking and cross the small bridge. Walk until you reach the Doubletree By Hilton Hotel. Turn left and follow the walkway underneath the railway crossing. the trip was a memorable one. The guide Ms Toska was very good in communicating and and very amiable. she took extra efforts to see all tourists were comfortable and enjoying the trip. keukenhof garden was amazing with multicolor tulips creating a mesmerizing ambience and a sea of colour. The shoe making and cheese making was also enjoyable. Overall a very delightful experience and is recommended if anyone is visiting Amsterdam during April and May.
