Full description

The Uffizi Gallery is a must-see when visiting Florence. Built in 1560 and known as the world's oldest museum, it was designed by the famous renaissance architect Giorgio Vasari. The grand duke of Tuscany Cosimo I de Medici decided to re-establish the authority of the Medici family.

After Cosimo I eliminated most of his rivals, he gave an office to the rest to keep an eye on them. In fact, Uffizi means offices. After his death, his children lost interest in politics. His eldest son, Francesco I, brought his private collection of artworks and made the Uffizi his private museum.

On this tour Uffizi tour, save time but also learn inside stories behind some of the most notable masterpieces conserved in Florence.

After your tour, enjoy some refreshments in the cafeteria on the Uffizi Gallery's terrace. Take in the unique views of the city, relax and take pictures.

This is a great way to learn what to look for and appreciate in paintings. Every trip to an art museum will be more meaningful in the future because of this tour! Without our guide, we would have been completely overwhelmed in the Uffizi. We highly recommend this tour for making the most of your time in the Uffizi.

Having the guide made it so much easier to navigate the Uffizi, Pamela our guide was extremely good at explaining the important pictures and how they developed the techniques through time. Skip the line tickets were brilliant as the Uffizi is very popular even in March when we went as there are a lot of school trips. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour even though I am not a huge art lover. There is some reorganizing of the museum going on so best to go with a guide.

Rosa despite the crowds of Uffizi managed to whisk us around the highlights of the gallery, giving us interesting information about the pieces of art, but also the artists as well. This didn‘t feel like just random facts, but like a narrative and gave us a solid understanding about art and culture in Florence through the centuries. Thank you Rosa!
