  • Explore the Mayan underworld
  • Snorkel in a semi-flooded cave
  • Enjoy two meals with your tour
Full description
Head to an underground world with unique dimensions that has been in silence for years. Arrive at the ticket booth at 8:00 AM to meet your guide and receive instructions for the tour. Sit down for a continental breakfast and pick up the necessary equipment for the expedition, including a helmet with lamp, wetsuit, water shoes, life jacket, snorkel equipment and a lunch bag. Next, bike 1.5 kilometers through a path in the jungle, full of vegetation, and have the possibility of seeing local wildlife on the way to the Mayan underworld. Explore 1.5 kilometers in a dry cave for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Observe incredible formations and roof collapses, walk between light and darkness, until you arrive at the Jungle Camp. After a 2-hour swim in a semi-flooded cave, come back to Jungle Camp in order to change and prepare to go back to Base Camp, where you can relax and enjoy a regional buffet. Finally, return to the reception in order to be transferred to the hotel.

The tour itself is very nice! The cave tour was an absolutely unique experience for us! There is nothing to complain about in this regard: good organization, nice guide, clean and good quality equipment, delicious lunch, etc. . The only negative point, which is why there is a star deduction, is that you are not allowed to take a camera (or GoPro) with you... there they take pictures that you then have to buy: for a price of $99, which in our opinion is absolutely excessive . What a pity!

The other travelers were awesome and fun to have been with. Our guide Miguel was the very best and very knowledgeable...... I did however have an issue with the breakfast as there was NO continental breakfast. For how EXTREME the activities were a better breakfast should have been provided!! Also what to wear needs to be way more detailed online than the minimal information provided!!

I had one spare day and wasn't really familiar with things to do. I wanted something challenging and not too touristy. This tour turned out to be one of the most unusual and breathtaking experiences I've ever had. I strongly recommend it if you love to spend time in untouched nature. You get to see a lot of wildlife, well hidden creatures and you learn so much about the caves. My guides Karina and Rodolfo are so passionate and knowledgable about the whole area which was impressive. Be prepared to spend hours doing moderate exercise and that you have no tendency of being claustrophobic as you go quite deep inside the caves. It would be great in future if you could provide the taken pictures for less money or at least offer more affordable packages so that people can take their memories of the amazing day home. Important to say that pictures can only partly capture what you get to see for real and experience in the caves.
