Within 72 hour we received a phone call confirming all the details, including selecting our jacket size. They also sent a confirmation email with pick up time and collection point. On the morning of the sunrise (2am) we arrived at our collection point 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Our driver ‘Glenn’ picked us up and throughout the whole journey he was very informative of the tour and the island. He was aware people may get motion sickness and reassured us that if any is us did feel nauseous to speak up and let him know (we were fortunate in our group not to have anyone feel sick). We couldn’t have got a better spot for the sunrise, as although you have to a reservation it was still quite busy with people. It is very cold (being someone from the UK, I could not feel my nose/toes and this wasn’t a particularly windy morning). After the sunrise we travelled back down for a breakfast which we chose on route to the sunset from a set menu. Then heading back to our pick up spot.

This tour and tour driver/guide was very organized, efficient and punctual. Glenn is a careful driver while negotiating the winding road. He has much information and facts to share about Maui. Besides experiencing the sunrise, we also had a good breakfast at Kula Lodge Restaurant. Skyline Hawaii most thoughtful gesture for this tour is offering fleece lined windbreaker jackets with a hood to wear during the chilly morning, 45-43 degrees F. , when we arrived at the National Park I am glad I was able to book this tour.

It was super windy the morning we went up, and I was glad I had pre-ordered five jackets for all five of my family members (my dad and brother originally didn't think they would need an extra jacket). As offensive as the wind was, the experience was overall pretty magical. The roads are designed in such a way that very few people got motion sickness (our guide provided ginger chews to everyone just in case still), the conditions were just right and we were able to see the full sunrise (they reportedly couldn't see a thing just the day before), and the breakfast afterwards was in a quaint setting. Great experience overall!
