The tour of the coliseum was incredible. We were lucky and got a private tour. Yamile, who was our guide, explained the whole story to us and was very kind. Just keep in mind that on this tour the guide is only included in the coliseum. For the Forum and the Palatine they only give you access and you have to do the tour alone

We went with this tour as it included all parts of the colosseum & the Roman forum. Prior to the tour we had an email to change the start time from 9.30 to 10:10, which was not a big issue, however, our actual tour did not start until 10.45. The underground tour of the colosseum was done with a different company due to accessibility. This was very informative and fascinating, but sadly due to the later start it meant we were rushed when the underground tour finished & we were left to look around the 2nd floor on our own, as we needed to be outside the colosseum for 12.15 for the Roman forum tour. When booking we did not realise that it would be done in two sections. The Roman forum tour also felt slightly rushed but this could have been due to the weather as it kept raining on & off. Overall both tours were very informative & im glad we did them, but it did feel very rushed with limited opportunity to sit down, so you are walking constantly for around 3 hours.

Alessandra, a top guide! With perfect French, with humor and elegance, she was able to take us back to the time of gladiators and emperors. We took the tour of the Colosseum underground, the arenas and ancient Rome. Everything was very good, but the underground passages are, in my opinion, the visit not to be missed!! A guide is really necessary, to tell about the places, to bring them to life and for the practical side too, because with a guide, no queues!!! We were very lucky because there were only 4 of us in the group, which was perfect for us, it was the equivalent of a private tour.
