Purchasing the online timed ticket to the Louvre was a streamlined and efficient process. The lines are organized according to the time of your tour. Employees are at each umbrella to help you figure out which of the lines to join. The line seemed very long but it moved very quickly as did the security check. Once inside, you go to the Information desk to grab a map, and if you want to rent an audio guide, you need to buy a ticket and then proceed to another location to get the guide. I spent four hours in the museum and I could have spent four days, at least. The employees at the museum are very kind and helpful. Have some idea of what you want to see before you go. Obviously, there was a long line to see the Mona Lisa, a small painting behind glass. There are other paintings by Da Vinci well worth seeing. I would recommend using Get Your Guide. They provide excellent service and their instructions after purchasing an online ticket are clear.

Just booked from get your guide, easy and simple. The only thing you have to do is to get the app so as to have your tickets on your phone. Get inside less than 15 minutes, we booked the ticket "skip the line" and the stuff of louvre museum very kind and helpful.

My ‘skip the queue’ ticket was timed for 10:00am. I arrived half an hour early and was simply waved through with minimal delay. Admittedly this was on a weekday (possibly weekends are busier), but for me gaining admission to the museum was an absolute breeze.
