Full description
Spend a day discovering the land and legends of Scottish heroes William Wallace and Rob Roy, and experience the natural beauty of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Begin with a photo stop at The Kelpies (from April 1, 2020). Enjoy a memorable visit to Stirling Castle, explore the pretty villages of Aberfoyle and Loch Lomond Shores, and set off on a spectacular cruise across Loch Lomond. Departing Edinburgh, head to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, one of the prettiest and largest lochs in the whole of Scotland. Here you can enjoy an hour-long cruise taking in spectacular views of the loch’s many islands and the surrounding mountains. Alternatively, take a stroll through the picturesque loch-side conservation village of Loch Lomond Shores, with its quaint houses, cafes, and stunning views across the loch’s western shoreline.  Enter The Trossachs National Park, also known as “The Highlands in miniature” for its abundance of lochs, mountains, and forests, and famous as the homeland of the legendary outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor. Continue on, past medieval Doune Castle, to the pretty town of Aberfoyle, situated on the banks of the River Teith in Stirlingshire, where you stop to enjoy some lunch.  Travel north-west for your last stop of the day at magnificent Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most historically significant castles, sitting high on volcanic rock and offering wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. You will have time to visit the castle and learn of the exploits of key historical figures including William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots. With lots of interesting things to see and do here, the Stirling Castle experience is a must for any visitor to Scotland. Travel back to Edinburgh.

We had a really great time on our tour with Alan B. He was super knowledgeable, interesting to listen to and even occasionally sang us a tune or two to help reflect the beauty of all Scotland has to offer and it's connection to music :) The trip was safe, enjoyable, comfortable and overall a great day out from Edinburgh. Highly recommend it.

Our tour guide, Stuart, was fab. Completely made the trip. However, a lot of the trip is spent driving. Only 1 hour spent at Loch Lomond, 1 hour for lunch, 1.5 hours at Stirling Castle and a quick stop at the Kelpies and possibly a highland cow. In future I would prefer to rent a car, as you can get to each place quicker and stop for as long as you want in each location.

Fantastic excursion. Had a wonderful day! Loch Lomond is a particularly beautiful place. Wr paid the small extra fee to go on a boat tour at the Loch, which was well worth its money. Comfy coach, well located pick up spot, convenient pick up time, perfect length day-trip, would highly recommend. Jim our tour guide and driver was cheerful, knowledgable, helpful & comical! Brilliant way to spend a day. Thank you!
