This was the only large group tour I took whilst in Rome - I wasn't sure what to expect - but I have no complaints whatsoever! The guide (Mamma) was knowledgable and friendly, the tour was well paced and I left feeling satisfied that I had seen the main attractions within the Vatican City. The Sistine Chapel is exceptional.

Antonio, our Japanese speaking guide was very knowledgeable and told and pointed out things that we would have missed had we gone alone. Booking through Get Your Guide meant that we didn’t have to queue to enter the Vatican Museums, which, having seen the queue, we were very grateful for. Antonio clearly knows his stuff and was not fazed by questions.

It is advisable to book a guided tour and put yourself in the experienced hands of the guides. Otherwise it is too much, too complicated and time-consuming, or the transition through the palace (the stairs are crazy) from the chapel in St. Peter's Basilica is a highlight - and only possible with a guide!
