Visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, New Zealand’s premier historic site, with a 2-day pass. Valid for two consecutive days, your pass includes an informative 50-minute guided tour, introductory film, and 30-minute cultural performance. The Waitangi Treaty Grounds are where New Zealand’s most significant document was signed. Watch an introductory film about the Treaty of Waitangi. Embark on a 50-minute tour with a local guide, with headsets provided so that you can hear clearly. Stroll through the beautiful grounds and admire panoramic views of the Bay of Islands. See the world’s largest ceremonial war canoe, and stand in the spot where the treaty was signed. Visit the Museum of Waitangi Te Kongahu to see permanent and changing exhibits, and explore the educational center. Make use of multimedia and visual displays as you admire taonga (treasures). Enjoy a 30-minute cultural performance at the magnificently carved meeting house. Te Pitowhenua, a performing arts group, will invite you inside with a traditional Maori powhiri (welcome). Poi twirling, Maori weaponry, stick games, heavenly harmonies, and a traditional haka dance will leave you spellbound.

2. Shore Excursion to Historic Kerikeri including Lunch

We pick up customers from the Waitangi Wharf and return them there. This is the place where the Cruise Ship Tenders frop passengers off and return them to the ship. The first stop on this tour takes us to the breath-taking Rainbow Falls. There are three stunning viewing platforms are at the top of the Rainbow Falls, all of which offer great photo opportunities. Our next stop is the Makana Chocolate Factory to sample their hand made chocolates and time to visit the adjacent Kauri Workshop which has crafts and collectibles for sale. We then move on to the Kerikeri Mission Station which was established in 1819. There are two significant buildings, “The Stone Store” built in 1832, originally used as a Missionary Society warehouse and the adjacent “Kemp House”, New Zealand’s oldest building completed in 1821/22 by missionary carpenters and Maori sawyers. While we are at Mission Station, we will visit the historic Plough & Feather pub, where clients will have lunch along with a glass of locally made beer or wine (all included in the price). Our last stop is the Waitangi Look out. Here customers can take photos of their ship and Russell.

We had a guided tour with Mr Busby he was very knowledgeable had a lively relatable non threatening delivery style. The museum had a great flow very interesting held our attention and delivered historic information that was easy to understand for adults and children.
