During the early season, before the ice on Lake Torneträsk is fully stable, we’ll whisk you away by mini-bus to a nearby pristine lake and there, a brief walk onto the ice. Once lake Torneträsk is safe to walk on, you’ll experience the thrill of a snowmobile ride onto it. With the assistance of our ice drill, we’ll create a hole in the ice, drop your lure, and set out to catch the legendary and delectable Arctic Char. As you reel in your catch, we’ll build a warming fire where you can savor a hot beverage and sizzle your freshly caught fish. For added comfort, our wooden hut is at your disposal, providing a cozy respite in front of the crackling fire. Join us for an ice fishing expedition filled with adventure, flavor, and unforgettable moments!

Spend the day travelling by dog sled through the exciting wilderness, and stop at the wilderness camp for some Swedish Fika, get to know the sled dogs, and then travel back to the starting point. During the dog sledding adventure, your professional musher/guide will drive a sled that accommodates up to four guests. Having a professional musher drive the sled ensures the highest levels of safety for you, and allows healthy guests of nearly all levels of physical ability to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime dog sledding adventure. While your professional musher controls the team of dogs, you can sit back, relax, take lots of pictures, and enjoy every second of your time in the Arctic wilderness. Approximately halfway through the dog sledding adventure, we will stop at our remote Arctic wilderness camp where your guide will prepare a warm fire, piping hot drinks, and classic Swedish Fika. After all the guests have gathered, your aurora-chasing guide will use their collective experience combined with local weather and aurora forecasts to make the best possible decision about where to look for the northern lights. Travel up to 90 km to one of several spectacular locations with a proven track record and a very high likelihood of success. Learn about aurora borealis and the history of Abisko National Park from your guide on the way. Upon arrival at your location, be treated to a cup of hot drink. If the location of the night is on a lake or river, see the auroras reflect on the open water. Some popular locations include the scenic shoreline of Lake Torneträsk with stunning views in every direction or a calm bay at the northwest end of Lake Torneträsk with Arctic views and a cozy fire pit. You may also find an amazing aurora outlook in the mountains surrounding Björkliden, or on the top of Bear Mountain near the border of Sweden and Norway. Alternatively, head to a remote fishing village near the mouth of the Torne River which flows out of Lake Torneträsk.

Capture the true feeling of a winter night in the arctic. Your guide will take you to learn the wintry way of movement with snowshoes. While walking on the snow, you will experience how the milky light of the moon and stars cast enchanting shadows through the snowfields. In Abisko there is a lot of animals that dwell in the birch forest during winter, so the possibility to see a lot of tracks is quite big. Most likely you will see tracks of forest hare, ptarmigan, foxes, lemmings, and if you are lucky you might even spot tracks form a moose. During the tour we will have a break and enjoy some warm berry juice while the only sound you hear is the sough of the forest and fells. If you are lucky, you may even see the Northern Lights dance over the lake Torneträsk and over the mountaintops. If there is a full moon and a clear sky you will also get a spectacular view over the Abisko mountain range which includes one of Sweden’s most famous mountain formations Lapporten which is a U-valley sculptured by the ice age.
