Vienna: Upper Belvedere & Permanent Collection Entry Ticket

Vienna: Upper Belvedere & Permanent Collection Entry Ticket

The Belvedere in Vienna is one of the leading museums worldwide. Its famous art collection includes works ranging from the Middle Ages to the present day. The unique complex, with its two palaces of the Upper and Lower Belvedere and extensive gardens, is one of the most stunning Baroque architectural marvels in the world. Highlights include the world's largest collection of Gustav Klimt paintings as well as prominent works from the periods of Viennese Biedermeier, Austrian Baroque, Vienna around 1900, and French Impressionism. Now, for the first time in decades, the museum will once again host large-scale special exhibitions that you can admire on your visit. In the 18th century, the Austrian general Prince Eugene of Savoy commissioned the renowned Baroque architect Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt to build the complex. After the death of Prince Eugene, Empress Maria Theresa acquired the entire complex and transformed the Upper Belvedere into an exhibition venue for the imperial collections – making it one of the first public museums in the world. The Lower Belvedere, formerly the residence of Prince Eugene, is home to illustrious exhibitions. The Baroque gardens of the Belvedere rank among the most beautiful in the world. The main garden is situated between the Lower and the Upper Belvedere and extends over three large terraces. The Belvedere park is also home to the Botanical Garden and the oldest Alpine garden in Europe. Exhibition Highlights: Ongoing: Picture this! Paying for a 7 day city card to use Vienna public transportation is worth the money. I use all kinds of the transportation during my visit from the day I arrived in Vienna. The transportation in Vienna is very efficient. I used the google maps to find out how to get from the airport to the hotels or how to get from one place to another. I used the trams and trains. It saves you time from buying a ticket and validating each time you take the public transportation. I also got lost in the beginning I took diff trams but since I have the pass I feel the pass is all worth it. I heard trams are more expensive than train but the pass is inclusive. I highly recommend it.

I really liked it and it has all the conditions for those going with small children. The stations have elevators, which makes transportation easier. The city is also perfect for seeing a lot of things while walking, which is why the 2-day pass was here for us. We stayed for 4 days but saw a lot on foot.

It was a really enjoyable experience in Vienna and with Vienna pass we visited very nice places. They also provided us with a guide book which helped us to visit the museums and attractions which we really enjoyed.

Very helpful and worth the price. Very useful for a well organised trip to Vienna. Loukia
