  • Albufeira: 2.5-Hour Caves & Dolphin Watching Boat Tour

    1. Albufeira: 2.5-Hour Caves & Dolphin Watching Boat Tour

Look for dolphins and hidden caves on a half-day dolphin watching cruise of the Algarve from Albufeira. Bring your swimsuit and towel, as the activity includes a stop for a swim. Marvel at the rock formations, and access areas that other vessels can’t reach. A marine biologist will be on board to provide all necessary information about these wonderful creatures. Be aware that as dolphins are wild animals, sightings can not be guaranteed.

The caves were beautiful! Time was wasted while people swam (less than half the group wanted to swim). So while the 20 or so people swam the rest of us were sitting in the sun with nothing to do. We should have used that time to sightsee or find dolphins. We were unable to find any but that is not the tour company's fault.

  • From Albufeira: Benagil Hidden Caves Tour by Kayak or SUP

    2. From Albufeira: Benagil Hidden Caves Tour by Kayak or SUP

You can reposition yourself to wherever you feel comfortable, standing up or on your knees. Have a safe and rewarding experience regardless of age or skill level. Alternatively, you can ride in a single kayak or double kayak. Gain confidence even as a beginner with a water safety briefing from your guide before starting the tour. Take a dive in the ocean before returning to the marina by boat, where you can enjoy a cool drink on board.

Amazing experience seeing the most beautiful caves and beaches. The tour guide was great and it’s definitely a top thing to do!

The guide on board will provide information in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish. The modern catamaran has a capacity of up to 11 passengers and provides a pleasant and comfortable way of exploring the islands. The day is divided into 2 tours. Had an amazing time both on and off the boat - the guide definitely knew what he was doing, and we saw some beautiful scenery and wildlife on our way to the islands of the Ria Formosa. He hopped fluidly between English, German and French descriptions of animals for the guests on the boat which made everyone feel welcome. The islands themselves were amazing and the only thing I'd change was wanting to spend more time there! Absolutely brilliant morning. There were a range of people with varying levels of experience, and the guides made sure everyone was included and going at a pace to suit all. We felt really welcomed, and had a good laugh throughout the trip. Really great experience - Sandra and Ricardo were very communicative before the trip about the meeting point. Ricardo was friendly and knowledgable - he managed to spot lots of different birds in the wetlands, including the flamingos! The islands were beautiful too. Thanks so much for the lovely day trip!

We had a wonderful boat tour around different caves & got the chance to see the dolphins at the beginning of our tour. The guides really did their best for us to see the dolphins as they are not in captivity.
