Vienna: Upper Belvedere & Permanent Collection Entry Ticket

2. Vienna: Upper Belvedere & Permanent Collection Entry Ticket

The Belvedere in Vienna is one of the leading museums worldwide. Its famous art collection includes works ranging from the Middle Ages to the present day. The unique complex, with its two palaces of the Upper and Lower Belvedere and extensive gardens, is one of the most stunning Baroque architectural marvels in the world. Highlights include the world's largest collection of Gustav Klimt paintings as well as prominent works from the periods of Viennese Biedermeier, Austrian Baroque, Vienna around 1900, and French Impressionism. Now, for the first time in decades, the museum will once again host large-scale special exhibitions that you can admire on your visit. In the 18th century, the Austrian general Prince Eugene of Savoy commissioned the renowned Baroque architect Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt to build the complex. After the death of Prince Eugene, Empress Maria Theresa acquired the entire complex and transformed the Upper Belvedere into an exhibition venue for the imperial collections – making it one of the first public museums in the world. The Lower Belvedere, formerly the residence of Prince Eugene, is home to illustrious exhibitions. The Baroque gardens of the Belvedere rank among the most beautiful in the world. The main garden is situated between the Lower and the Upper Belvedere and extends over three large terraces. The Belvedere park is also home to the Botanical Garden and the oldest Alpine garden in Europe.

8. Vienna: Private Tour of Klimt’s Art with Entry Tickets

Gustav Klimt was born and died in the Austrian capital, so it's no wonder you can walk around Vienna for days trying to see everything: his "Kiss" at the Belvedere Palace, his "Beethoven Frieze" at the Secession Exhibition Hall, his "Life and Death" at the Leopold Museum. During this art tour, you will visit the three museums that house the most important part of Klimt's legacy and get a comprehensive overview of his work. Belvedere The tour stats at the historic Belvedere Palace. It is here that "The Kiss" and "Judith", the famous works of Klimt's most striking "golden period", are to be found. Here you will not only see the most famous works firsthand, but also understand the historical context and the origins of the great artist's work. Secession In the exhibition hall of the Secession, you will come face to face with his monumental work "Beethoven's Frieze". It is the only piece that surrounds the viewer on all sides - which was part of the artist's conception. Here you will merge with the art and experience Gustav Klimt in its most pure form. Leopold Museum The third stop is in the Museum Quarter. Here, the Leopold Museum houses "Life and Death". It is an exceptional painting, and in reworking it, the artist committed an important symbolic act. You will take an in-depth look at this key work, as well as the reconstructions of the lost faculty paintings and Klimt's studio. After the tour you can stay in the Leopold Museum as long as you like.

The person that stood at the front entrance didn't know that we shouldn't wait the line and at first send us to the tickets, then to wait to the line until I explained him... and he finally open us the second entrance to go through.... we lost an hour for his ignorance. I believe that's something that the ticket services should look, it's very important.

Beautiful exhibition and building. Don't expect many Klimt paintings apart from "The Kiss" Because the works are scattered in various museums but it is still beautiful.

Great experience. It was totally worth the visit. I highly recommend you book your tickets online and plan your visit earlier than 12 pm.

All perfect. We entered the building with the app, everything ok. Fast and easy ticket purchase

Easy and clear. Beautiful facility with some great art.
