After being picked up from your accomodation or hotel in Trieste, your guide will take you on a tour through Trieste. Take in the panoramic views of this majestic city, nestled in Italy’s northeast corner, embraced by green hills in one and the Mediterranean sea on the other, the snow capped Dolomites to the north. Visit Miramare Castle which was built between 1856 and 1860 on the tip of the promontory overlooking the sea. Enjoy a relaxing walk through the castle's beautiful parks and marvel at the valuable botanical species where one can relax.  At the end of the tour you will be dropped off at your accomodation.

Once you get there, your private driver will provide you with skip-the-line tickets to visit this beautiful castle. You'll then be free to start the visit by yourself, following the signs inside the castle and deciding what you prefer to see and how much time to dedicate to each room. You might want to dedicate a bit more time for the beautiful Maximilian's Rooms, particularly the bedroom, furnished as a ship's cabin, as well as the "Throne Room". Built between 1856 and 1860 by Archduke Maximilian of Austria, later Emperor of Mexico, the building is strongly influenced by a Romantic taste, as a revisited construction of a medieval fortress. Don't forget to take a look at the large park (over 22 hectares) surrounding the castle, an English-style and Italian-style garden, rich in rare plants, sculptures, and ponds, with wide steps that descend towards the sea.  After your 1.5-hour visit, your driver will take you back to the train station.
