During the tour, get a sense of authentic life in Como while mingling with the locals and listening to stories about the city’s history and culinary culture. Start the day off right with a traditional lunch in a historical wine shop. Settle in for a chop-board of high-quality cured meats and a lovely glass of local wine.  Head then for some gourmet pizza, because you can't miss this pillar of Italian street food while in Como. In a delicious, historical bakery, snack on a slice of pizza like the locals do — while walking.  Continue the walking tour with a stop for a polenta dish, the queen of the table in the Como area as well as in the whole Alpine region. Polenta here is produced by mixing corn and buckwheat flour, and is served with braised meat or cheese and melted butter. In Valtellina dialect "sciat" means toad, but this delicacy is actually a delicious and crunchy pancakes with a cheesy center. Sample a sciat and then the delicious Nuvola cake, translating literally to "cloud." While the shape resembles that of a large plumcake, the texture is something halfway between panettone and pandoro, but much softer — precisely like a cloud — and it is filled with apricot jam. Alternatively, you can enjoy a delicious ice cream while walking along the romantic lakeside promenade. Conclude the tour with a coffee, because any respectable Italian lunch can only end with a tasty espresso.

We booked pretty late and spontaneous which is why we had a pretty private tour with Pier. He was incredible as a guide and for anyone who is interested to get to know the local cuisine, regional differences for cuisine in Italy or simply some funny discussions about the latest food trends - he is the guy. The food and wine we received was delicious and after spending a couple of days in Como exploring a lot of restaurants, bars and cafés- we are convinced that the selected places represent some of the best and most traditional places in Como. Last but not least having an owner of a shop as the guide gave us the feeling that we became local for a short while as well - receiving the warmth and hospitality of the owners of the restaurant, the staff and just local neighbors greeting us friendly. We really enjoyed the tour and can highly recommend it for anyone interested to get to know both the cuisine as well as the city history.

Stefania and Vincenzo were wonderful hosts! They warmly welcomed us into their house and spoke highly of their city. We enjoyed learning how to cook from scratch using unique Italian ingredients. And it was delicious! Thank you for a unforgettable evening.

Amazing people, awesome service, and great experience. It was very fun and they were very considerate with costumers needs!
