Our family met at the Zoo to celebrate our grandson's third birthday. There were 4 families. It was a great day for all! Of course the playground at the end with bread bowls of clam chowder were highlights. The kids especially enjoyed the big cats, the giraffes and the prarie dogs! Everything was clean and felt quite safe which allowed everyone to enjoy the day!

The crew was very helpful getting my husband on and off the boat. He is in a wheelchair. I wish he could have give up too, more to set up there. We enjoyed the audio tour which was broadcast over the ship. I learned a lot about the bridges and the surrounding areas.

  • San Francisco: Escape from The Rock Bay Cruise

    7. San Francisco: Escape from The Rock Bay Cruise

Cruise San Francisco Bay and sail under the Golden Gate Bridge on a 90-minute narrated tour around Alcatraz Island. Skip the box office line and go straight to the gate with your ticket.

See Alcatraz island from the water while listening to accounts of the chilling escape attempts and the notorious criminals that called Alcatraz prison home. Cruise full circle around Alcatraz Island, allowing you to view every angle of this mysterious island, which housed famous inmates such as Al Capone, Billy Cook the Killer, and Clyde Johnson, whose escape attempt is legendary. Gain a clear picture of what life in this maximum-security prison was like when it was the most feared institution in the American penal system.

This was a fun trip! I do wish someone would of warned us about how windy and cold it is if you sit on the outside deck. A winter coat and hat, at least, would of created a more comfortable experience. It did seem like the cruise was generous with the time. The only thing I would change is that when circling around Alkatraz that circling around at oppsite directions so that BOTH sides of the boat can get the good, unobstructed view. If you want an unobstructed view sit on the right hand side of the boat. Otherwise we enjoyed this cruise very much. Thank you!

We had a great time exploring Muir Woods. The drive up was a but unnerving, as I get really bad motion sickness and did not realize the roads were extremely winding. I wish this tour had been guided but it was nice being able to take our time and go at our own pace. When we got there and presented our tickets we were told the park was free that day, so maybe could have saved a little money but no big deal. Our driver was great and friendly.

What people are saying about San Francisco

Overall rating

4.4 / 5

based on 3,667 reviews

Our tour guide/driver was Kimmy and she was awesome! Energetic, funny, and helpful, especially with taking pictures. She actually gave us a lot more information than the people at the wineries. One problem: the air conditioning on the bus didn't work well, so we were all sweating on the ride back to SF. The winery in Napa was ehh, but the 2 in Sonoma were good. Would've liked to spend an extra 15 minutes in Muir woods though.

Just WOW! Napa was lovely and we enjoyed the day, but we were blown away by our tour guide, Randall. He was incredibly personable and informative. By the end of the day, he felt like a true friend. This day wouldn’t have been the same without him. He was the very best, such a special person with a passion for wine which contributed to our tour immensely. I would recommend this tour and look forward to coming back!

My experience was very enjoyable, the driver was very informative and all of the places I went made me feel comfortable being there

Our guide was great! We got to see Muir Woods without having to worry about driving or making reservations.

really good guide ! Make the Best experience for us
