1. Puffing Billy, Moonlit Sanctuary, & Penguin Parade Day Trip
Climb aboard the centuries-old steam train Puffing Billy and enjoy the ride through lush fern gullies and Eucalyptus forests. Lovingly maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers, this historic steam train still runs on its original mountain track, winding through the Dandenong Ranges. Next, head down to the award-winning Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Park to see a range of Australian animals. Learn about iconic species such as kangaroos, koalas, emus, and wallabies, as well as some of Australia's lesser-known favourites including quolls, owls, bandicoots, and Tasmanian devils. Hand feed some of the friendly local kangaroos and wallabies on the "Wallaby Walk". Arriving on Phillip Island, your first stop is the picturesque Point Grant, which offers incredible panoramic views of the coastline, as well as a gentle boardwalk around the Nobbies and Seal Rocks area. Finally, cap it all off with a visit to the world famous Penguin Parade to see the world's smallest penguins waddle up the beach before your eyes, making their way back home to their burrows higher up in the sand dunes.
