The trip begins with pickup from your hotel in central San Carlos de Bariloche and then embarks on a sightseeing tour of the city’s highlights. Visit some of the most iconic landmarks that San Carlos de Bariloche has to offer, and learn about this vibrant city from your local guide. Next, travel along the edge of the stunning Nahuel Huapi Lake, one of the most beautiful places in Patagonia. The cable car rises to the summit at 1,405 meters above sea level, you can see the incredible panoramas from any of the 42 panoramic gondolas, with capacity for 4 people each.  Once at the top, you can enjoy a meal and a hot beverage at the Rotating Cafeteria, unique to South America, which allows you to appreciate the entire landscape through large windows while enjoying excellent regional cuisine. It also has an art gallery with the exact life-size casts of the most important works of Michelangelo Buonarroti: The David, The Moses and La Piedad. Cerro Tronador is the highest mountain in the National Park Nahuel Huapi with three picks in its summit - one Chilean, one international, and one Argentinean. To arrive at its base from San Carlos de Bariloche it is necessary to take the national route #258 heading for El Bolsón and then, to arrive at the south part of Lake Mascardi, take the route #254 toward the right until arriving to Pampa Linda, a small village that has a hostel with a restaurant, camping site, park guard, and a section of Gendarmería Nacional. From here, you will see several paths for trips by foot or by horse that will allow you to discover places of an extraordinary beauty. You can admire, for example, the Manso Glacier or the snowdrift Negro, which together birth the Manso Superior River that ends in Lake Mascardi after traveling through the Valley of the Vuriloches. You could also head to Otto Meiling refuge, located 2,000 meters high, from where the ascent to the summits of the Tronador begins (experts only). Tronador is 3450 meters high and owes its name to the impressive noise that is made by large detachments of ice. Explore its surroundings on this tour with roundtrip transportation.

A popular tour of Bariloche, this half-day circular route begins in the city and heads out to Lake Nahuel Huapi and Playa Bonita. From Playa Bonita you’ll be able to see Huemul Island. When you reach the foot of Cerro Campanario there’s a chairlift that takes people to the summit (1,050 meters). If you choose to take this optional ride to the top you’ll marvel at some of the most spectacular views of the region. The circuit continues on the San Pedro peninsula to the Llao Llao area. Admire St. Edward’s Chapel, an architectural jewel, and head to Puero Scarf on Lake Nahuel Huapi, where sailing excursions on the lake depart. To the south are stunning views of the Llao Llao Hotel, framed by the Chapel Hill and Cerro Lopez. When you arrive at Panorama Point you’ll admire the lovely views of the Llao Llao peninsula and surrounding lakes. Next you’ll cross the bridge over Lake Moreno that connects the lake with the Llao Llao peninsula and follow the route around Laguna El Treboll, before returing to the city of Bariloche.

Begin your full-day tour from your hotel in Bariloche at 8 AM.  Then, head north through the town of Dina Huapi and the bridge over the Limay River, connecting to the legendary Route 40. Along the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, make your first short stop in Villa la Angostura, a town with mountain architecture ideal for walking on foot. Next, start walking an incredible path surrounded by mountains and lakes.  Make stops along the way to experience the hike to its fullest. On the Road of the Seven Lakes, see Espejo Lake, Correntoso Lake, Villarino Lake, Falkner, Escondido Lake, Machónico Lake, and Lácar Lake, before finally arriving at the city of San Martin. You will have free time to explore the city and have lunch in front of the lake before starting the return along the same path. The tour starts from Puerto Pañuelo in the impressive Llao Llao Peninsula. After an hour of navigation, we arrive at the Quetrihue peninsula, the seat of the Bosque de Arrayanes, located in the northeast of Lake Nahuel Huapi. The Arrayan (Quetrihue in the Mapuche language) is a shrub with an exquisite saffron color and white flowers. In this place, unique in the world, it takes on the size of a "tree" to form a magical and unusual Forest. Then you will sail to Puerto Anchorena, Victoria Island, where you will be able to enjoy a native flora, prolific in species of magnificent size. Letting yourself go back in time, walking the trails that lead to Playa del Toro, to discover there the cave paintings made by the native peoples of this area, within the framework of a splendid volcanic sand beach, is an unforgettable and magical experience. On this full-day excursion you’ll take in some of the most breathtaking features of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Visit lakes, beaches, mountains, and waterfalls, and admire the highest mountain in the Patagonia. Mount Tronador, 3,478 meters high, forms a natural border between Chile and Argentina. From the viewpoint at its base you can see the incredible glacier that feeds the Manso River. See the Ventisquero Negro (Black Glacier) that consists of huge brownish-gray blocks formed by avalanches of ice and mud. Visit La Garganta del Diablo (The Devil’s Throat), a waterfall created by melted glacial ice, surrounded by high rock walls, and see the Saltillo de las Nalcas, a hidden waterfall in the middle of the forest. This mountain’s name, Tronador, comes from the thunderous sounds produced by the massive falling blocks of ice.

Cerro Tronador is located in the southern part of the Andes mountain range, on the border between Argentina and Chile. It separates two national parks: Nahuel Huapi, in the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén, Argentina; and the Vicente Pérez Rosales in the province of Llanquihue, Chile. The name of the hill is due to the noise that is produced by the frequent detachments of ice in the glaciers, similar to that of thunder. El Tronador has a total of seven glaciers which are currently in remission due to global warming. The tour departs from Bariloche, taking National Route 40 South, about 45 km, to cross the Pampa de Huenuleo and border Lake Gutiérrez, to cross the Pilmayen and Melgarejo streams. After passing through the "water divide", you will travel along the banks of Lake Mascardi until you reach the detour where the road to Tronador (gravel) emerges. During this tour, Lake Mascardi is bordered again along its west coast, until reaching the Isla Corazón viewpoint. Further on, you will pass in front of Cerro Los Emparedados and border the upper Manso River until you reach Pampa Linda, from where you have one of the best views of Cerro Tronador. Then you cross part of the Vuriloches valley and finally, passing through a shady forest, you reach the Ventisquero Negro. The tour ends a little further on at the foot of Cerro Tronador. The hill, with its 3,454 meters above sea level, is the highest point in the Nahuel Huapi National Park, and has three peaks (International, Argentine and Chilean).
