The Palacio Pena is in the same general vicinity, so you'll want to do both sites while you're near the top of the mountain. The one-way road to the top will get you close to the entrance, but you need to find parking along the way, which may be difficult depending on the time of day and how many folks are visiting at the same time. There is a significant amount of elevation change, both getting to the site, and inside. If you use GYG to get your tickets, make sure you download the tickets with the Bar Code. The QR codes you get in the App will not get you in (don't ask). You should get an email that has downloadable tickets, and those have the bar code. Download to your phone or print them out. The site itself is pretty cool, but be mindful of your children (if you have them)...there are plenty of places to fall, and it will do damage. If you're weak of heart, the climbing may be a bit much for you. You will, however, be rewarded by climbing to the upper tiers of the site.

Pre-purchase your ticket and save time on arrival. Walk in and scan at the entrance. Don't miss seeing this historical site while in Sintra. Pena Palace is beautiful too, 8 minutes to walk from one to the other. The two sites are very different. Take your time walking through and enjoying the views.

Very nice views of Sintra, its monuments and the Pena Palace. The walk on the wall is very pleasant despite the many steps.

Beautiful. Lots of climbing. Very windy. Not too busy. Very fun!
