For almost two hours you will be immersed in the field of smelting and industrial history, blast furnace technology and a busy cultural site. The tour is not barrier-free.

See the youngest offspring of blacktip reef sharks, catsharks, rays, and other sea creatures in the shallow 148 square meter water basin.    At the end of your visit, join up with a guide for an exclusive behind the scenes tour with aquarium staff. Explore the work area of the aquarists to uncover the feed kitchen and learn about the laboratory and its technology. Have a look through the microscope and help prepare the food for the sea creatures before feeding the marine life. 

Where iron once flowed through the factory's casting halls, modern technology is now used to search for hidden treasures. The combination of searching for locations using GPS coordinates and solving sometimes tricky tasks makes this expedition through the old ironworks a varied fun for families with children and for adults. Whether you explore the route with your own GPS device, your own smartphone or with our rental equipment is up to you. When ordering, you can choose between three road books with different levels of difficulty, depending on how old the treasure hunters are. When you start your adventure is up to you: you can pick up the road book at the visitor center during opening hours. The reward is definitely a treasure that has something to do with the landscape park and the ironworks.

This tour takes you through several parks. You will also come across unexpected beauties such as the court house, town hall and a former department stores', see great cinemas and famous actors. And, of course, you'll keep coming across traces of industrialisation, without which the Ruhr would not be the Ruhr. There are fun tasks and tricky questions at the tour stops. Pay attention and look carefully, then you will know for example, why a school looks like a church. Starting at the main station, the tour takes you in a round trip through the pedestrian zone, to hidden details in supposedly familiar places and visit the funniest selfie spot in Oberhausen. Then it's back through the Marienviertel to the main station. It's like being shown Oberhausen's city centre by a good friend. The tour is a great way to get out and discover new things with family, friends or even on your own. The walk is about 3.5 km long and takes about 2 hours (depending on your pace).
