Christchurch – We start by leaving the Garden City/Christchurch and heading north while our knowledgeable driver points out some of the Garden City’s highlights. Springfield/Alpine Jet –As we make our way through the Selwyn District you will be greeted by the Gorgeous little western town of Springfield where we make our turn off towards Alpine Jets. Here you will spend time experiencing the wonders of the Waimakariri, it’s no wonder Jet Boating was developed here in Christchurch! For those that have decided to not add this onto their tour, there are walks, views and sheep cuddles to enjoy. Castle Hill (1hour) – Once back in the van we head towards Castle Hill. These weathered limestone rocks sit proudly on the tussocky hills and were once in the ocean! Over time they eroded away and started forming these amazing unique shapes you’ll see today. You might recognize this landscape from movies such as Lord of the Rings and Narnia! That’s right. Not only that, but while you walk amongst the rocks you will also see climbers and boulderers! This place is a magnet for those types of hobbies. This is not a guided walk so you will be left to explore this piece of beauty on your own. Otira Gorge Lookout (15 min) – Also known as Deaths Corner! The Otira Viaduct Lookout is an amazing spot to see the national park in all its glory. This bridge is the only reason driving Arthurs Pass is possible! It’s huge at 440 Meters long and is a great spot for a photo of the bridge and the surrounding landscape. A little bonus too, you might see a wee Cheeky Kea! The sneaky Alpine Parrot of NZ. Arthurs Pass Village (1hour) – We depart the lookout and head towards Arthur's Pass village. On the way you will be able to see the beautiful backdrop of the majestic Southern Alps up close. Once we arrive you will have the opportunity to either walk the Devils Punch Bowl or spend this time walking around the local shop. Devils Punch Bowl – This walking track is approx. 1 hour with a gradual incline including steps towards a ferocious 131-meter-tall waterfall. Fitness is low to moderate as you walk through the bush and forest. Arthurs pass village – Grab a bite to eat, a coffee and shop some local goodies! This village is a great way to really get to know the area. Please note our driver will keep you updated on the time to catch your train back to the city. TranzAlpine – Our guide will drop you at the Train Station to continue your journey back towards the Canterbury Plains, via the TranzAlpine. Christchurch Train station –The train is scheduled to arrive at the station at 7pm, you will see our van there waiting for you! You can tell us all about it as we take you back to the accommodation where you started your journey from this Morning. As this tour operates in an alpine region the weather can be unpredictable. In the event of bad weather this tour will continue onto Greymouth and Lake Brunner

Take a variety of landscapes, from green fields to rugged mountain ranges, lush forest and ice-fed lakes and rivers. Avoid missing sights with a guide that is happy to point out the highlights. View the blue river that winds through the Waimakariri Gorge and the sparkling waters of Lake Pearson, a bird paradise. Enjoy the Otira Gorge Rock Shelter Lookout, an engineering marvel. Make plenty of stops along the way and have the chance to do optional activities (for an additional fee) like taking a jet boat ride or going for a forest walk to a waterfall. Capture pictures at Instagram-worthy spots. Return to your accommodation in Christchurch at the end of your tour. As this tour operates in an alpine region the weather can be unpredictable. In the event of bas weather this tour will continue on to Greymouth and Lake Brunner.

Nothing but nature...... And food and drink. An all day tour showcasing some of the most popular and lesser known features of the West Coast. 8.30am : You will start your adventure in Greymouth and travel up the Coast Road, famous for its stunning scenery. 9.10am : The first activity is the unique and captivating Punakaiki Pancake Rocks walk. 10.00am : You then carry on up the Coast Road with several photo stops where we take in the hidden gems and stunning panorama of the Coastal Highway. 11.10am : The Seal Colony at Tauranga Bay where you can be delighted by the beautiful seals in their natural habitat. 12 midday : Lunch in Westport is followed by a visit to the Shortjaw Brewery (Tuesday to Saturday) for a tasting of the onsite brewed beers using local and New Zealand sourced ingredients. 1.15pm : Be amazed by the grandeur of the Buller Gorge. 2.30pm : We wind our way to Reefton and a visit to this charming little towns award winning distillery tasting room to sample the award winning unique gin or liqueur (Tuesday to Saturday). Or we walk to some of the special parts of this historically fascinating town. 3.00pm : Time now to head along the pretty Grey Valley where you can be charmed by the view across the valley. 4.15pm : We arrive at the Historic and scenic Brunner Mine Site, your last stop before heading back to Greymouth in the late afternoon. 5.00pm : Brings to an end a full day of some of the sights and tastes of the West Coast.

Travel the Coast Road, a scenic drive passing beaches and bays with native West Coast bush background. Stop for photos along the way before reaching Punakaiki where you will be guided through the pancake rocks and blowholes. Enjoy a nature walk with access to interpretation panels to learn about your surroundings.  After spending time at the blow holes you have time to grab a refreshment at the local cafe before travelling on to the Truman Track. Take a short walk to an ocean viewing platform and sandy bay. At low tide you can access the bay and walk along to the rock pools.  Head back via the famous Coast Road and if time allows the tour guide can stop off at some bays along the way and allow time for more photos. Your tour ends back in Greymouth at your accommodation or at the visitor centre.

Day 2 Your second day will see us departing Franz Josef and travel through the awe-inspiring Haast Pass. This scenic drive offers stunning views of dense rainforests, crystal-clear rivers, and towering mountains. Before long we will stop for a walk around the stunning Lake Matheson, before continuing onto Bruce Bay, Ships Creek & Thunder Creek Falls. Enjoy short stops to take in the spectacular views and capture unforgettable photos. We will pass by the serene waters of Lake Hawea, before arriving in Wanaka for a quick stop. This is your opportunity to take a photo of the famous "That Wanaka Tree". After you've stretched your legs, we continue onto our final destination, but not before stopping at the Historic Cardrona Valley Pub for a quick look. Finally, arrive in the adventure capital of New Zealand, Queenstown. Enjoy a convenient drop-off at your accommodation, where you can rest or immediately begin exploring the vibrant city.

Enjoy a scenic one-hour drive to Hokitika Gorge and follow the coastline before heading inland through farmland and native bush.  Walk across the swing bridge and spend time enjoying this magical place. With a forty five minute loop walk accessing different view points along the way and access down to the waters edge. Take in its vivid turquoise waters surrounded by lush native bush and see for yourself why it is a key photo stop on the West Coast must-do list.  Explore Tree Top Walkway and experience life with the birds high up in the ancient Rimu and Kamahi tree canopy. Gain easy access to the steel platform, which is 20 meters high and over 450 meters long. Enjoy the magnificent views of the Lake Mahinapua and surrounding mountain ranges. On a fine day as far as Mount Cook can be seen. Cafe on site for refreshments. If you’re a thrill-seeker, feel your heart pump as you climb to the top of Hokitika Tower, which is about 40 meters above the forest floor. Be inspired by a sensational vista of the majestic snow-capped Southern Alps, Lake Mahinapua, and the Tasman Sea. There is time to take your heartrate up even higher and travel to the bottom with the Zipline (extra costs involved to do this). Travel back to Greymouth to your accommodation or to the TranzAlpine train.
