Stop to rest and wander through a roadside fruit and vegetable market before continuing to the Tops Lookout.  Just 15 minutes from the heart of the city, the lookout provides panoramic views of Cebu City and Mandaue and Talisay. Explore the historic city of Cebu, a major cultural centre in the Philippines, and the oldest city in the country. First visited by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521, take a day to experience the city’s rich history and beautiful landmarks. Our tour will begin with the city's most famous landmark, Magellan's Cross. This cross, now housed in a chapel, is said to have been planted by Ferdinand Magellan when he arrived in the Philippines. Just a few steps away is the beautiful Basilica of the Holy Child. This Augustinian church was made a basilica in 1965 during the 400th year celebrations of Christianity in the Philippines. The church, which was the first to be established in the islands, is built of hewn stone and features the country's oldest relic, the figure of the Holy Child of Cebu. From here we will visit Fort San Pedro, built by Spanish and indigenous Cebuano labourers, followed by a stop at the Yap Ancestral House, a 300 hundred year old home that has been and converted into a showcasing a fantastic personal collection of antiques. Enjoy a peaceful visit to the Cebu Taoist Temple, and take in the beautiful view of Cebu City and the nearby cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu. After the temple we will have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, proceed to Mactan Island through Marcelo Fernan Bridge, connecting bridge Cebu City and Mactan Island. Our first stop in Mactan will be the Lapu-Lapu shrine, a 20-meter bronze statue, built in honor of indigenous hero Datu Lapu-Lapu. Finally, we visit a local guitar factory to see how traditional Philippine guitars are made, before dropping you back off at your hotel.

Discover the oldest colonial city of the Philippines by experiencing the charm of old Cebu and its most famous landmark, Magellan's Cross. The cross was first planted in 1521 to mark the spot where the native Filipinos were baptized into the Catholic faith. The next stop is the Fort San Pedro, which was the nucleus of the first Spanish settlement in the country and now has been turned into a museum park. The tour will then continue to visit the St. Nino Church, Hertigate Monument, Yap-San Diego Ancestral House, and the Taoist Temple (temporarily closed) at Beverly Hills. The final stop will be the handicraft stores for your shopping enjoyment.

Set off to explore the countryside south of Cebu with this fantastic experience. After being picked up from your hotel, drive through Cebu’s coastal towns en route to Carcar, approximately 25 miles south of Cebu. Your first stop will be at a Gothic-inspired, 16th century church in San Fernando. After a brief visit to the church, set off once more for Carcar and visit Theotokos shrine. Set amongst beautiful hillsides, it is dedicated to Our Lady Mother of God. After arriving in Carcar, catch a glimpse of rural life and experience the day-to-day activities of shoemaking, gourmet cooking, woodcarving and basket weaving. Take a “carabao” (water buffalo) ride and enjoy a ride on a tricycle to a colorful market. Learn how to weave a bamboo basket and enjoy the thrill of drinking fresh coconut wine. Afterwards, visit a beautiful ancestral home, before savouring a delicious lunch at a local open-air grill in Carcar.

An excellent value. Our tour guide Grace was not only an enjoyable companion but also highly informative of the history of Cebu and Mactan. We visited all the major sites and had an great lunch as well.
