The Tallinn city tour is a combined bus and walking tour in Tallinn. During the bus part of the tour, which lasts for 2 hours, you drive around the famous Old Town, and see the towers of the wall, the most famous ones are called Stout Margaret and Tall Herman. You also see the mighty wall of Toompea Castle on the hill, drive through the district of high tech architecture – Tallinn’s City. Lastly, you visit the districts of wooden architecture which Tallinn is famous for. See and learn about the history of the baroque style of Kadriorg Palace and the park which Peter the Great of Russia presented to his wife. Next continue the way to Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, a very important place for the people of Estonia, where the Estonia Song Festival is held every 5 years. The Festival Grounds are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Following this, drive along the seaside and enjoy a picturesque view to the Gulf of Finland. Stop at Pirita Convent (St. Brigit's Convent) and discover the story behind the ruins of the monastery. There will also be a beautiful photo stop on the coast of the gulf with the best view of the Tallinn. The bus tour ends in the Old Town and you will continue on foot. Tallinn’s Old Town consists of two parts, the Upper Town and the Lower Town. During your walk you will first discover the Upper Town, which was a stronghold of the former Tallinn nobility. See two cathedrals, the Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Lutheran St. Mary’s Cathedral. Lastly, view the Estonian Parliament building inside Toompea Castle and enjoy a panorama of the Tallinn from the viewing platforms. After seeing the Upper Town, continue to the Lower Town. Here you will see the medieval merchant’s houses and learn why Tallinn was founded at this particular place, how it developed, why there are so many churches and why they are so tall. Going down along the Long Leg Street see St. Olaf’s Church, the highest building in the world during the 16th and 17th centuries. Your tour ends at the Town Hall Square inside Lower Town. Here you will find the Gothic Town Hall and the oldest functioning pharmacy in the world, Town Hall Pharmacy. After the tour you are on your own, the guide will advise you about additional attractions, restaurants, and souvenir shops. The main square of Tallinn – Liberty Square is 5min away and the cruise harbour is just a 15 min walk.

After meeting your host at the terminal, take a bus ride to the Upper Old Town. During this 15-minute transfer with other passengers, you can admire the beautiful parks surrounding Old Town and observe the 13th-century medieval Toompea Castle standing majestically at the top of Toompea hill. Start the walking tour at the Upper Old Town. See the Estonian Parliament and visit the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. After a stroll through the narrow cobblestone lanes, you'll visit the oldest church in Tallinn - Dome Church. Experience magnificent panoramic views from the Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform. From here, you'll descend to the much livelier Lower Old Town. The main attractions here are the gothic-style merchant houses, the Town Wall with its beautiful towers, as well as the St Nickolas Church and Holy Ghost Church. The tour continues on to the historical city center, Town Hall Square where one of the oldest pharmacies in the world can still be seen next to the 15th century Town Hall. Next, take a walk through St Catherine’s Passage and admire the private studios of the local artists. The tour ends at the Viru Gate where you'll be given 2 hours of free time to have lunch and to do some shopping. At the scheduled time, from the city center, the bus will take you back to the port.

At a museum of local peasant architecture and culture, go inside old barn dwellings and chapels and take pictures with mills at the beautiful seacoast. The museum consists of several sectors, and so you don't get tired while walking, take a horse taxi or bicycle. This tour includes driving along the Tallinn seashore and visiting the open air museum, the most popular museum in summer.  On the way to open air museum by comfortable car/ bus, you will pass by the American district, hippodrome and talk of what kept Tallinn from developing since 1850s. It will take you 15 minutes to get to the museum from city center. In the open air museum, you will learn about the Estonian rural mode of life and see types of villages and farms. The mission of the museum is to introduce a peasant mode of life, tell you of the traditions through peasant architecture, farming culture, real life stories and superstitions with local humor. Feel the heart of the national identity of this small but proud Estonian people and understand what word freedom means for the people. During the walking tour, you will find a collection of 80 buildings: peasant farms, net sheds, school farm and chapel from the 18 to 20th-century.
