Obviously the acropolis and museums were everything we had expected from all the reviews. Even in February it was getting quite busy by later morning so if you want a bit of space get there early! My phone was refusing to work with the acropolis scanners but the fabulous chap at key tours sorted us out and printed tickets off for us. It was less than five minutes away to get to the office, so not a bother, he couldn't have been more helpful. The info on gyg said that the tickets would have to be picked up, that's not quite accurate, if you have a phone ( which isn't on the blink) the tickets are sent to you digitally.

We liked the check-out-the-place-yourself approach. We had plenty time to walk around the places at our own pace. Though we were given a digital virtual tour guide, I’d rate the tablet 1 star. It’s like listening to someone read out of a text book. Otherwise the day tour is great. I’d recommend it if you prefer a self-guided tour.

Simply scan the code at the gate and enjoy immediate entry to the Acropolis. The museum was just as simple but they are very strict….no backpacks but it is easy to check them at the coat check (free).

The skip the line tickets worked a treat. The audio was very dry and boring so we switched it off and just read the signage at the site which was also in English. The views are great.

Definitely get this combo ticket as it’s cheaper than buying individual tickets for each place or queuing. Audio guide is ok if you have the time
