2. Berlin: Tickets for KU'DAMM 56 - The Musical
KU'DAMM 56 - The Musical is the stage adaptation of the ZDF three-part series that captivated millions of viewers internationally.
It's about departure, first love, and self-determination. KU'DAMM 56 - DAS MUSICAL had its world premiere on November 28, 2021, at Berlin's Theater des Westens and was euphorically celebrated by audiences and the press.
The fate of the dance school owner Catherina Schöllack and her three daughters moves not only those who experienced the 1950s, not only their children but also their grandchildren.
Between the economic miracle and rebellion, oppression and emancipation, in the lustful struggle for free, first and late love, now the stories of the Schöllack women are taking on a whole new dimension: the multiple Grimme Prize winner and author of the story, Annette Hess, with Peter Plate and Ulf Leo Sommer (the songwriting team for Rosenstolz, Max Raabe, Sarah Connor) created the stage version of "Ku'damm 56 - The Musical".
It is not only about the scenes, the dialogues, and the music, intertwined in a wonderfully creative whole, but also about the common feelings that these universal stories evoke. We are dealing with the fascinating narrative of women who are looking for their place in life. This story deserves to be told today.
KU'DAMM 56 - The Musical is directed by Christoph Drewitz (The Fabulous World of Amelie / Fack ju Göhte). Adam Murray (Rocketman / Elton John Biopic) is responsible for the spectacular choreographies. Sandra Leitner ("The Fabulous World of Amélie - The Musical") and David Jakobs ("The Hunchback of Notre Dame") are the main characters in the leading roles of Monika and Freddy.
It will be funny, it will be tragic and there will be dancing, arguing, and loving. In the end, not a dry eye remains.
