Begin your tour at Thingvellir National Park, one of Iceland‘s most significant historical sites. It‘s the home of the country's first parliament which was founded in 930 AD and is the oldest extant parliamentary institution in the world. From Thingvellir, head inland towards the highly active Geysir hot spring area, with it's boiling mud pits and spouting hot springs. Continue on to Gullfoss, one of Iceland's most powerful waterfalls. Located on the Hvítá river, the waterfall is fed by the Langjökull glacier and plummets down 32 meters in two stages into a rugged canyon. Top your day off with a drive towards Langjökull glacier, where you will drive a snowmobile and dash across the snowfields while gazing at the peaks and ice surrounding you.

A morning drive from Reykjavik in our Mountain Taxi Super jeep brings us to Kaldidalur or "Cold Valley". On our right lies the western side of the massive, nearly 1.000 square kilometers large Langjökull glacier, resting on a torn and twisted volcanic base. Depending on the time of year, weather, and conditions, your expert driver may use his super jeep's extreme abilities to climb the glacial slopes of Langjökull. An opportunity for cold, personal contact with nature's icy element. We drive from the glacier, through Húsafell to Hraunfossar waterfalls, dropping straight out of lava cliff faces into the glacial river Hvítá. From nature to culture, we visit the historic site of Reykholt, home of Iceland’s legendary chieftain and writer Snorri Sturluson. Here, he wrote some of the greatest Sagas of the Icelanders, brilliant literature also preserving the culture and history of the Viking Age to our day. Nearby is Deildartunguhver, the most productive hot spring in the Northern Hemisphere and a source of much of western Iceland’s heating needs. Our day wraps up in Reykjavik, taking in the scenic and historic Hvalfjörður fjord on the way.

The final stop of the Golden Circle takes you to Gullfoss waterfall, which many consider to be the queen of Icelandic. Take a break and enjoy lunch at Gullfoss Café, before heading off road in jeep. The ride will take you to the highlands, rough terrain and glacier area of Langjökull (long glacier), known to be the second largest ice cap in Iceland (953 km2).  After an off-road ride, visit Faxi, a small but beautiful waterfall before driving back to Reykjavik.
