Off season we had a great experience with the gladiator school. We basically received a private lesson for our two boys for two hours and Piero (aka Marcus Aurelius) was super engaging, entertaining, fully bought in and ya four boys totally sucked in to the gladiator school. It definitely helped that we had done the amphitheater Flavius tour two days prior and that we had watched most of the Gladiator movie. Constructive criticism would be to provide more info directly to clients so that they know what to expect: off the beaten path, out of town, down an unmarked road, in the woods and MANY mosquitos. My daughter and I were eaten alive for two hours as we watched the boys train to be gladiators.
Our tour guide Dennis was an absolute delight. This is my first time in Rome and I’m a solo traveller so I really wanted to do this tour and it was incredible. It took around 4 hours and it’s the quickest 4 hours ever, I’ve learned so much and felt so comfortable around Dennis who was extremely knowledgable and answered any and all questions thrown at him. I recommend this tour to anybody, it was worth every penny - you see and learn so much and it was really nice to gain some local knowledge from Dennis to use for the remainder of my trip!
We had a fantastic day from start to finish. Joseph, our kind collected us bright and early from our hotel alongside driver Roberto. We were then taken to Pompeii for an amazing private tour with local guide Antonio. All three were nothing but amazing, knowledge, and laughs from Joseph and Antonio and super safe driving from Roberto. Our stop in Positano was one I'll will remember dearly, this has to be one of the most beautiful areas in the world. Thank you all
A fantastic way to explore this super interesting area and try some great tasty Roman treats in authentic cafes and bakeries. We ended up returning to the area (and one of the actual food spots on the tour) again the next day because we enjoyed it so much. Our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable and we appreciated the Italian wine tips he gave us when we saw him out later that evening!
Chronological explanation of Caravaggio's life visiting the locations and the background of his paintings including lost ones made me feel his life in Rome more closely. The setting for wine was beautiful and the taste of wine was authentic from Lazio, which had minerals.
