    3. From Nairobi: 3-Day/2-Night Maasai Mara Group Safari

Take a 3-day tour to discover the Masai Mara Reserve, the most popular tourist destination in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley, the reserve is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration, involving over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November, is a phenomenal spectacle that can only be seen in the Maasai Mara. Most visitors will have the opportunity to spot one of the Big 5—lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. Day 1: Get picked up from your hotel in Nairobi city center at 8 AM, then drive to Maasai Mara Nature Reserve. Pass the great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking views and stop for lunch on the way. After check-in at your hotel, depart for a game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve. Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner. Stay overnight in a big tent that has a...

I had a great trip to Masai Mara in June 2021. I opted for the Toyota LandCruiser Jeep and was not disappointed. Some other cars got stuck in the mud in the reserve and we helped them out (but we did not have rain the entire trip). The driver and guide Leonard was very knowledgeable and helped us to have a memorable experience. In the first day we had lunch on the way to Masai Mara at a restaurant, followed by an afternoon game drive. The people from the group were split to 3 different camps and I landed at Linciada Camp, the same as in my previous trip. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. Sleeping in the tent was very comfortable. There were Maasai people in the camp among the staff, which added to the experience. The second day we had a full day of game drives, with so many sightings, such as lions, cheetahs with their prey, elephants, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles at the Mara river. I warmly recommend this safari also in 2021, since it never disappoints!

  • Nairobi National Park, Elephant Sanctuary and Giraffe Center

    4. Nairobi National Park, Elephant Sanctuary and Giraffe Center

Be collected from your accommodation early in the morning to take a tour of Nairobi National Park when the animals are at their most active after a night of hunting. Continue to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to meet baby elephants that have mostly lost their mothers to poaching, death, or another tragedy. Next, meet the majestic Rothschild giraffes of the Giraffe Center, opened to protect and breed the endangered animals. Hand feed the giraffes in safety from a raised observation platform that allows for eye-to-eye interaction. Learn all about giraffe conservation and the various activities of the center. You can be returned to your accommodation or to the airport to catch your flight home.

Regrettably, the Elephant center was closed due to Covid, it didn't seem to mind the other places. Was sorry we had to miss that. Otherwise, great tour, saw lots of animals at the National Park. Very cordial drivers/tour guides.

We had a fantastic day out in nature and saw some amazing animals. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had an issue with out vouchers on entry to the park which caused a delay by around half an hour waiting in the Jeep. It didn’t overshadow our enjoyment of the day though and I would recommend this trip to others who want to see as much wildlife as possible in a tour not too far from Nairobi.

This was my second trip to Lake Nakuru and Naivasha with GetYourGuide. I decided to do this trip again in June 2021 and was not disappointed. I was picked up from my hotel at 6am by the guide Nathan, who was very punctual. The Game drive started at 10am and lasted 3 hours at Lake Nakuru, where I saw many different animals such as zebras, cape buffalo, white and black rhinos, impalas, baboons, pelicans, many flamingos, warthogs, waterbucks, spoonbills, giraffes, fish eagles and a new hippo in the area. After lunch we went to Lake Naivasha where I took an afternoon boat ride. During the boat ride I saw hippos, fishermen, fish eagles fishing, pelicans, cormorans, kingfishers, egrets, ibis and many animals such as zebras, impalas on Crescent island from the movie Out of Africa. I strongly recommend the this trip and the guide Nathan from Perfect Wilderness Tours and Safari!

The 3 day safari through the Masai Mara was just perfect! We had the chance to see several lions, elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, antelopes and gazelles of all kinds, and a very rare rhinoceros, cheetah and leopard. We stayed at the Manyatta Lodge in comfortable although modest tents which made the experience even more authentic. Provide a flashlight as power cuts may occur. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The buffet meals are good. Georges our guide gave us precise explanations and answered all our questions. He was warm and fun. We did not choose the option of visiting the Masai village.

John M talked with the other guides and guards to make sure that we could get the best wildlife views of the day. Lions and rhinos, oh my! He had other info about activities that made our day wonderful even after the tour ended.

We had a great experience with Paul as a guide. We saw many animals and beautiful landscapes. Paul is a very good guide, an experienced driver and gives good explainations on the context.

Our game drive with Geoffrey was really great! He was very courteous and helpful. I highly recommend this company!
