    2. From Nairobi: 3-Day/2-Night Maasai Mara Group Safari

Take a 3-day tour to discover the Masai Mara Reserve, the most popular tourist destination in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley, the reserve is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration, involving over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November, is a phenomenal spectacle that can only be seen in the Maasai Mara. Most visitors will have the opportunity to spot one of the Big 5—lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. Day 1: Get picked up from your hotel in Nairobi city center at 8 AM, then drive to Maasai Mara Nature Reserve. Pass the great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking views and stop for lunch on the way. After check-in at your hotel, depart for a game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve. Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner. Stay overnight in a big tent that has a...

I had a great trip to Masai Mara in June 2021. I opted for the Toyota LandCruiser Jeep and was not disappointed. Some other cars got stuck in the mud in the reserve and we helped them out (but we did not have rain the entire trip). The driver and guide Leonard was very knowledgeable and helped us to have a memorable experience. In the first day we had lunch on the way to Masai Mara at a restaurant, followed by an afternoon game drive. The people from the group were split to 3 different camps and I landed at Linciada Camp, the same as in my previous trip. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. Sleeping in the tent was very comfortable. There were Maasai people in the camp among the staff, which added to the experience. The second day we had a full day of game drives, with so many sightings, such as lions, cheetahs with their prey, elephants, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles at the Mara river. I warmly recommend this safari also in 2021, since it never disappoints!

  • Nairobi National Park, Elephant Sanctuary and Giraffe Center

    3. Nairobi National Park, Elephant Sanctuary and Giraffe Center

Be collected from your accommodation early in the morning to take a tour of Nairobi National Park when the animals are at their most active after a night of hunting. Continue to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to meet baby elephants that have mostly lost their mothers to poaching, death, or another tragedy. Next, meet the majestic Rothschild giraffes of the Giraffe Center, opened to protect and breed the endangered animals. Hand feed the giraffes in safety from a raised observation platform that allows for eye-to-eye interaction. Learn all about giraffe conservation and the various activities of the center. You can be returned to your accommodation or to the airport to catch your flight home.

Regrettably, the Elephant center was closed due to Covid, it didn't seem to mind the other places. Was sorry we had to miss that. Otherwise, great tour, saw lots of animals at the National Park. Very cordial drivers/tour guides.

The trip to Amboseli was wonderful and the guide and driver Nathan from the local Safari Partner was great and knowledgeable. The game drive lasted three hours and I saw elephants (also up close), wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, lions, ostriches, flamingos, cape buffalo, fish eagles, impalas, baboons and a large hippo. All with the beautiful background of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trip started at 6 am when I was picked from the hotel in Westlands, and we started the game drive at 9am. The lunch was great at the Ol Tukai Lodge in Amboseli, with great scenery. The trip back started at 13:30 and arrived at 6pm in Nairobi, also due to ongoing construction works on the roads. Considering the low turnover of tourists due to the current situation, the safaris were not crowded and enjoyeable. Also the director of the local partner was very helpful sending useful information in a timely manner. GetYourGuide was great as always! I strongly recommend this safari in 2021.

  • Nairobi Storytelling Tour with Former Street Kids

    10. Nairobi Storytelling Tour with Former Street Kids

Discover a different side to Nairobi with this extraordinary guided tour. After meeting your guides, who are former street children brought up in the heart of the city, you will embark on a 3-hour guided walking tour as together you explore the Downtown region in the city's center.  As you walk, get real insights into the lives of local youth and street children, as your guides take you through their experience in their former 'home'. Share their captivating life stories connected to the places you visit. Hear how they ended up in the streets and learn how they survived as they teach you some of their street skills.  As you journey through Nairobi, your guides will not only explain how they transformed their lives, but also how they continue to try and improve the situations of their families and friends. Get inspired by their ghetto energy with this more intimate and personal tour.

An amazing experience. The guides were very friendly, and respectful. The tour itself goes to places you wouldn’t otherwise see as a tourist, while talking to the guys, and hearing about their interesting stories. The amount of guides on the tour guarantees a personal touch, my and my girlfriend actually had more than one guide per person, so we got to hear from them all. The guys also made sure we felt super safe and comfortable throughout the tour. Towards the end of the tour, we visited a small local which had amazing local food, just what you need after the walking tour. All in all it was a perfect experience, which I can recommend to everyone.

The 3 day safari through the Masai Mara was just perfect! We had the chance to see several lions, elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, antelopes and gazelles of all kinds, and a very rare rhinoceros, cheetah and leopard. We stayed at the Manyatta Lodge in comfortable although modest tents which made the experience even more authentic. Provide a flashlight as power cuts may occur. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The buffet meals are good. Georges our guide gave us precise explanations and answered all our questions. He was warm and fun. We did not choose the option of visiting the Masai village.

Very complete excursion seeing the elephant orphanage, the giraffe center and the bomas of Kenya with dance show included. Our driver guide took care of everything and explained each place as we went. Highly recommended !!

We had a great experience with Paul as a guide. We saw many animals and beautiful landscapes. Paul is a very good guide, an experienced driver and gives good explainations on the context.
