Apparently GYG hasn’t updated the system with OBI tours (the one connected to this tour) but I called Obi when I arrived in the port from my cruise ship. Obi was fantastic and even though they didn’t have me scheduled or been notified of my purchase, he was quickly able to get my group a guide within minutes. We had Thomas as our guide. On our private tour it was my father who was in a wheelchair, my sister and I. He was able to help accommodate our tour for our father and was even nice to help us push him up hard pathways around puerto Vallarta’s. We learned so many things and fell in love with the culture and history of this beautiful place. We even requested to have local tacos for an authentic local feel. It was a taco stand on the side of the road. It was some of the best seafood tacos I’ve ever ate in my life! Definitely will return to puerto Vallarta because of our wonderful tour with Thomas. Thank you Obi and Thomas for being able to accommodate us!
Superb! Everything was well organized in a wonderful setting. We had a knowledgeable and fun instructor who answered every question and had us actually prepare the mole under her direction. She was great. I highly recommend this workshop but be prepared to be a participant, not just an onlooker. And the final product was “muy bueno!”
Our guide took us to the market to collect our ingredients. They chose beautiful fresh and clean ingredients, showing us what to look for in a dried pepper etc. We went back to the shop to prepare, chat, laugh, see whales breaching out the window, and of course got to eat our mole, and take mole home too!
Martha was awesome! She took us to all the best local taco spots away from the tourists. If you’re looking for excellent authentic local tacos (she even stopped at the best churro vender in town too) then book this tour.
