Things to do in Langtang National Park

Your guide will pick up from your hotel by a private car and drive (1:30 hr) to Nagarkot view point 2175m. Enjoy the view of Himalayan panorama including Mt. Everest, Gauri Shanker, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang, Ganesh Himal and many more. You may have a small break for tea/ coffee and toilet. Continue driving (15m) and start hiking (3 hr approx) to Changu Narayan temple (Unesco World Heritage site). On the way you will see rural life of Nepal, seasonal farming, goat grazing farmers and locally alcohol making. The trail will be flat walking in the beginning and hike up and again flat and little down at the end. You will visit a Hindu temple on the way. While arriving to Changu village, you will have a lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch visit Changu Narayan temple. The temple has master piece of Nepalese stone carvings, wood carvings and God and Goddess icons. After exploring the temple, drive back to your hotel and end the tour.

Day 1: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi to Pahiro (1,550m/5,085 ft)(6 hrs drive, 2 hrs trek) You'll depart from Kathmandu and drive to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the Langtang trek. You'll enjoy the scenic journey through winding mountain roads and picturesque landscapes. You'll be trekking for two hours in forests and be following a Langtang river. Overnight stay in Pahiro. Day 2: Pahiro to Ghoda Tabela (2,900m/9,514 ft)(6 hrs trek) You'll begin your trek from Syabrubesi and hike to Ghoda Tabela. You'll experience lush green forests, charming villages, and cascading waterfalls along the way. You'll find yourself immersed in the peaceful surroundings of the Ghoda Tabela. Overnight stay in Ghoda Tabela. Day 3: Ghoda Tabela to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,696 ft) You'll continue your trek from Ghoda Tabela to Kyanjin Gompa. You'll marvel at the breathtaking mountain views and encounter the unique culture of the Tamang community. You'll explore the village along with cheese factory, monasteries and interact with the friendly locals. Overnight stay in Kyanjin Gompa. Day 4: Kyanjin Gompa to Thangsyap (3,200m/10,498 ft) You'll trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Ri peak (4,770m/15,649 ft) which is a uphill and ascent. This could be an optional as it is little hard for some to trek upto the peak. You'll enjoy the panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks and the serene beauty of the glacial valley. You'll be tracing back the same route after conquering the peak and immerse yourself in the spiritual atmosphere. Overnight stay in Thangsyap. Day 5: Thangsyap to Syafrubesi (1,550m/5,085 ft): You'll explore the surroundings of Thangsyap. You'll enjoy the breathtaking views of the Langtang range and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Afterward, you'll trek back to Syafrubesi retracing your steps descending through the scenic trail beside the Langtang river. Overnight stay in Syafrubesi. Day 6: Syabrubesi and Return to Kathmandu You'll be driven back in a shared bus from Syafrubesi, enjoying the final leg of your journey. The 5-Day Gosaikunda Trek is designed for travelers desiring a short but intense adventure from Kathmandu. Detailed itinerary: Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche and trek to Deurali (2790 m) The first day of your trip begins with a pick up from your hotel in Kathmandu. You will then be driven to a nearby bus stop for a scenic drive to Dhunche. The journey might take approximately 5-6 hours. Dhunche is a town and is marked as the starting point of your trek. During the drive, you get to see amazing views of lush green hills, terraced fields, and snow-capped mountains including Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang among others. After a short break in Dhunche, the hike begins with a brisk walk towards Deurali (2-hour). A guest house in Deurali will then be your halt for the night. Day 2: Trek to Laurebina (3910m) Day two of your trek begins with your morning breakfast and a brief about your day from your guide. We then begin the hike towards Laurebina via Chandanbari. It is an ascend following a steep path. A guest house in Laurebina will later be your halt for the night. Day 3: Round trip to Gosaikunda from Laurebina (Max Altitude: 4380 m) Day three, as usual, begins with your morning breakfast and a brief about your day from your guide. The hike then moves towards Gosainkunda, an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake in Langtang National Park located at an elevation of 4380. The lake melts to feed river Trishuli as it remains frozen during the winter. Here you will be exploring other lakes in the region as well including Bhairav Kunda, Chandra Kunda and Saraswati Kunda. The travelers here will also enjoy a majestic view of the Langtang range in the background. Later in the afternoon you will hike back to Laurebina for your night halt. Day 4: Trek down to Dhunche On day four, the trail gradually descends through beautiful rhododendrons, pine & bamboo forests that lead you to Deurali. The travelers from here hike past another dense forest and cross a river to descend to Dhunche for the night halt. Day 5: Drive back to Kathmandu (1350 m) Day five begins with a morning breakfast before your scenic drive to Kathmandu. In addition to being a breathtaking lake with great mythological importance, Gosaikunda Lake is a wonderful place to go trekking. One of the primary characteristics of the 4,380 (14,370 feet) elevation in the Rasuwa District of Nepal's Langtang National Park is the alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake, which serves as the primary source of the Trishuli River. This lake hike is suitable for people who have limited time and want to see more in a short amount of time. October through June are the six months that the lake is frozen. The beginning of this walk is at the little village of Dhunche, Rasuwa. Of course, the most amusing part of this lake excursion is the designated scary lake. But, the main characteristic of this area is the traditional clothing that people still wear, along with the customary "Khukuri" that everyone carries. Mani stones and gompas are common, and the Tamang community comprises the bulk of the population. You may visit the oldest cheese factory and gompa in Chandanbari. To reach Lauribinayak, the trek truly tests your strength. This particular peak offers an amazing view of Ganesh Himal and the Langtang Range. The route passes through alpine, juniper, oak, rhododendron, and woodland walkthroughs. After leaving the forest zone, the surrounding hills and mountains will be breathtaking to view, and you'll get what you're looking for in terms of hunger and thirst. It is said that Lord Shiva formed the lake after he swallowed the poison and then stabbed his Trishuli (holy trident) into the hills to release the water so he could feel his throat. Day 1: Drive to Sundarijal (1,460 meters) and trek to Chisapani 4-5 hours (2,165 meters) You'll begin by being met at your hotel, from where you will drive for an hour to your trek's starting point of Sundarijal. From Sundarijal, your trek begins uphill following a large water pipe coming down from the Sundarijal Reservoir. Following that you will enter the Shivapuri National Park from where you will proceed further to reach the Mulkharka Village. The trail then passes through Tamang Village befire reaching Chisapani, from where you can spot great views of Langtang Lirung, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Everest. In the evening you'll witness beautiful sunset views over the Himalayan Range from your Lodge. Accommodation : Guest House with Private Bath Room Meal: Breakfast Day 2: Chisapani to Nagarkot (2,175 meters) After breakfast, the trek continues by ascending through a lush forest before descending down to Jhule and Chauki Bhanjyang. The trail then crosses some villages and terraced fields before reaching Kattike Bhanjyang. You will be required to ascend up to reach Nagarkot from Kattike Bhanjyang, which will offer great views of mountains. Day 3: Hike from Nagarkot to Changu Narayan (1541m) & drive back to Bhkatpapur and back to Kathmandu Your final day will begin with an early-morning wake-up to observe the beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas from your hotel . Following breakfast you will hike to Changu Narayan, where the trail descends downwards via Telkot. En-route you will encounter a bird’s eye-view of both Bhaktapur and Kathmandu. After exploring the oldest temple Changu Naryan, you will get drive to Bhaktpaur to experience Newari culture, ancient Fifty Five Window Palace, Golden Gate and tallest temple Natapola. The tour begins with an early morning pick up from your hotel in Kathmandu. Lukla is the entry point for most of the treks and expeditions going further into the Khumbu region. The Tenzing Hillary Airport is named after the legendary mountaineers, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, the first mountaineers ever to successfully summit Everest. During the flight you will have an aerial view over Mt. Jugal, Mt. Gaurishankar and Langtang range. 07:30 AM: Fly to Pheriche (Max Altitude: 4371 m / 14340 ft) You will take a 15 min helicopter flight to Pheriche as your first halt for shuttle. Only a Pax of three or four including the pilot are allowed to fly here onwards. 8:00 AM: Fly by Everest Base Camp (Min Altitude: 5545 m / 18192 ft) For your own safety, the helicopters beyond this point are only allowed to fly with a maximum of three / four people onboard, pilot included. The remaining crew will wait here for their turn. On your way you will fly by via Everest Base Camp, Khumbu Icefall, Khumbu Glacier and have a close view of Mt. Everest, Mt Nuptse among others. 09:00 AM: Fly to Hotel Everest View (Max Altitude: 3800 m / 12467 ft) You will now fly to Hotel Everest View. Hotel Everest View is the highest located 5 Star hotel in the world at 3800 m. Here you may enjoy the 360 degree view of the mountains including Mt. Everest while you have your morning breakfast (optional). 10:00 AM: Fly back to Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 2800 m / 9187 ft) You will now board a hour long helicopter flight from Hotel Everest View back to Kathmandu.
