Guanajuato: Night Walk with the Estudiantina

Guanajuato: Night Walk with the Estudiantina

The callejoneadas are a tradition that emerged in Guanajuato in the middle of the 20th century, inspired by the old Spanish estudiantinas. These musical groups, composed mainly of university students, roam the alleys and squares of the city singing popular songs while recounting local legends and anecdotes. The tradition was adapted to Guanajuato's colonial setting, where the narrow alleys and architectural landscape provide an ideal environment for the activity. Although the callejoneadas were born as a form of student entertainment, over time they have become one of the city's main tourist attractions, preserving a connection to the history, culture and folk art of the region.

very cool and fun tour, the only thing that was a little boring was the mine stop not worth the 65 pesos but only because we were not interested. everything else was fun and nice to visit and worth the entrance fee.
