The boat ride was amazing. We had a very good guide who stopped and pointed out all kinds of details in perfect weather. Organization was smooth, and our driver/guide was friendly and helpful too. Personally though, the trip to the viewpoints wouldn't have been necessary. The amazing perspective is inside the canyon, and it's not that the viewpoints are on the way: They add about 2 hours pure driving to the trip, thereby making the first lunch opportunity more of a linner. We also didn't quite understand why we stopped at different hotels on the way out to pick up more guests, we only had the option of joining in the center. That being said, I find a major flaw in many tours: Why not begin at a clearer marked meeting point? Have the guide arrive early with a clear sign, not "just" on time, so conversation will start between participants? Would make it much more personal. So: Some tiny flaws, but the canyon itself was absolutely worth it.

The Sumidero Canyon is spectacular. You visit several high viewpoints and then take a motorboat tour along miles of river to see different birds, monkeys, and crocodiles. Afterwards, you stop briefly in Chiapa de Corzo, where you only have time to walk around the village, before returning to San Cristóbal at around 5:00 p.m. Highly recommended tour. The tour guide, Eric, was very friendly.

The boat trip was fanatic! El Capitan del barco was very good and very knowledgeable . He could spot a monkey and crocodile when no one else could for about 5 minutes! It was a highlight for our trip in Mexico over the past 2 months.

Incredibly beautiful gorge! Both the driver and the guide on the boat told us a lot about the area. We stopped several times during the boat trip to observe the landscape and animals. Great experience!
