I find Latvia, and Riga, a welcoming place in general and that positive impression has just been so reinforced, and greatly exceeded by my experience with Rolands on the kayak tour. With great environmental and local knowledge, as you would expect, Rolands went above and beyond bringing everything to life with a depth of personal experience. But he need not have done as the environment itself was so breath taking - with mist rising from an untouched natural world absolutely full of river life it felt at times like you where paddling down the Amazon or were an extra on the set of Jurassic park. More was provided than could have been expected in the tour description. I was left feeling looked after and thoroughly contented. If you want a TRULY unforgettable experience and experience a different side of Latvia, the "real Latvia" whatever that means, book this tour. You will be glad you did.

We had a faboulous outdoor day with our knowledgeable and lovely guide Rolands. This tour is a long one - it takes almost 12 hours and it is worth every minute. Spending a day kayaking through the beautiful landscape Abava Valley with Rolands giving insight into Latvian culture, nature, behaviour and everything else we were asking about, was our personal highlight during our trip to Latvia. After the kayak tour we went to the northernmost vineyard. As we we were too late for the cider tasting, Rolands was so sweet as to buy as a bottle in the local supermarket, which we we tried back in the hotel. So, if you have a couple of days to spend in Latvia and you like being in the open, this tour is a must. We can highly recommend it.

I went on this trip on 16th of February and I was so lucky to have an amazing trip, albeit it was in the winter-time. Roland was my guide and he picked me up at the preset time. He was an amazing guide who had much to offer on both the nature and Latvia. I would definitely recommend this tour for people who enjoy hiking and exploring different forms of nature that isn’t seen in your normal everyday outdoors. We went to both Kelmeri National Park, the beach, wet forest and a lagoon. It was very beautiful, and winter definitely did something beautiful for the nature. Along the way, Roland had prepared local snacks and it was a fun way to show the country as well.

I had a wonderful time with Armands and his driver. we visited a lot of places, those are some very romantic and nice castles. I also stop at a winery, that was really cool.

Great experience. Tour guide was excellent gave us lots of information and also brought typical Latvian food to try
