Rava Tagliata: In the Footsteps of Prehistory Guided Hike

Rava Tagliata: In the Footsteps of Prehistory Guided Hike

The Via della Storia is among the most fascinating history and art itineraries in L'Aquila's hinterland, between the Peligna and Subequana Valleys. The area is characterized by an impressive natural canyon, created by the erosion of the Aterno River, and hosts numerous naturalistic, archaeological, artistic, historical and religious emergencies. The Reserve takes its name from the renowned Hermitage of San Venanzio, a fascinating rock church built near the mouth straddling the gorge. During the hike we will have the opportunity to appreciate one of the rare glimpses of Mediterranean nature in the area: surrounded by olive groves, strawberry trees, oaks and brooms that, as we advance inside the canyon, will give way to pines and cypresses. Among rock crusts and wide caverns we will have a chance to talk about the geological history of our Apennines. We will encounter the meditation place of the Rainian intellectual Um

We loved this activity which takes place in a magnificent setting. The colors and purity of this river are fabulous. We highly recommend it even if we would have liked perhaps a little more freedom, that is to say to be able to paddle and stop whenever we wanted.

strong point was the knowledge of the guide and the fact that he was local. negative point that, having 2 children, the narration was not, at least sometimes, based on their interests.

It was a nice tour with a trained guide. Perhaps the price, compared with other guided tours to places not served by get your guide, is a little too high.

We had a very interesting tour, Hazem, our guide, speaks excellent English and gave us a lot of information. We can only recommend a tour on the river.

Vanessa was very good and passionate in telling us the history of the city and its "mysteries", great tour and great experience!
