I am so glad I took this cooking class. Junghee’s class was really fun. We started with a market tour, she explained the ingredients in details, the process, she taught me what to choose when buying some ingredients, it was really informative, it gave me the chance to feel being local by being in the market and seeing the locals buy their stuff. The cooking class was awesome. Junghee is fun to be with, she shared lots of stories while we were doing the cooking class. And the food that we prepared is so delicious especially the dak galbi, I was so full. I will gladly take another lesson when I go back to Seoul. Thanks so much Junghee. I had a wonderful day and I also got lucky with experiencing snow for the first time. It was a good thing we were out, doing the market tour, when the snow happened!! People reading this and contemplating if they or they should not do the class, don’t think, just hit the enroll button and choose your schedule. You won’t regret it.
I am so happy we decided to do this experience. My friend and I are both college students so we were a bit worried about the price but it truly is a gem of an experience in Korea. Please do this experience if you have the opportunity to do so. Junghee is such a sweet and wonderful host with so much travel experience and cooking expertise. Walking through the market was a much richer experience with a local that was able to explain what everything was used for in cooking and its role in Korean culture. Her home is a beautiful as the pictures and the recipes are made easy to follow by her instructions. Not only did she tell us stories but she was genuinely interested in us a people. Everything was very delicious and I'm happily making the recipes back home for my family.
We were only in South Korea for a few of hours and decided we wanted to do something that combined our love for Korean Food and Cooking. This experience did just that. Junghee is super engaging and really ensured we all got as much as we could from the experience starting from the market tour! We got to see and taste a bunch of different ingredients and dishes. She was so informative and relatable. We’ve done a few cooking classes before but we loved Junghee’s approach. Some friends had recommended this experience to us and we are so happy we did it!!! If you are debating whether or not you should do this experience, just do it! You won’t regret it (and neither will your stomach)!
From start to finish, Junghee created a special experience for my husband and I. Our class was intimate--just 4 people. It started with the market tour, which far exceeded my expectations. I now have a clearer understanding of the ingredients that are important to Korean cuisine. She even took the opportunity to provide us with samples of the marketplace food. Then we moved on to the cooking class in her home. What a delightful experience! It was just enough active participation combined with her and her husband doing things for us to make the most of our time. The feast we prepared and ate was some of the best food I had during my time here in Seoul.
Junghee hosted a fun, authentic, and yummy Korean experience. She was a blast to talk to and super knowledgeable. She let us stop and take photos, talk to vendors, and ask questions, while at the market. She then took us to her beautiful home where all the cooking supplies were already set up. She explained all the steps in detail and with patience, all while sharing interesting tips and fun life stories. She’s an amazing person, and created a fun excursion. This is great for the solo traveler, the couple, and even the whole family! Do yourself a favor and book this, don’t miss out!
